This pics were taken in Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain Lake. The lakes are nestled away in the rockies at an elevation of I believe over 12,000 feet. Very beautiful place gets up to about 80 during the day then drops down to about 40 at night.
The day went well until I smashed my prop on some submerged rocks. Spun the hub and it made for a long trip back to the ramp and a mind blowing speed of 2 mph. 3rd prop in 3 weekends. Thank god I didn't upgrade to stainless my drive would be wasted by now.

Man that is beautiful. Pictures don`t do justice. Aunt and Uncle live in Boulder. Haven`t been there in 20 years. God I`m getting old. Was there last at 16 years of age. Always wanted to go back. But looking in the picks, that`s bear lookin` country. I don`t mess with bear lookin` country. Alligator is one thing but bears, coyotes, and a pissed off moose! My drunk ass woud be a dead drunk ass.

boozer,
do you do photography on any higher levels? It looks like photography is a serious hobby for you considering the quality of these images. What kind of camera do you have? Model?

Those are nice pictures- very nice.
But how did you find a rock to hit in a lake like that???? (I can hear it already- "had a muff in my face and I couldn't see where I was going..." I could see if you had the Bayliner on a river or something but it looks like a blind man could boat there safely!!!!
So lets hear it, and where are the shots of your boat??

My drunk ass woud be a dead drunk ass. It is Bear Country. In the town of Grand Lake all the trash cans have signs that say "No glass. Glass kills Bears!" Then has a picture of a bear holding up the garbage can to get food out of it. Maybe next time I go I will take a picture of one of the trash cans. In the winter it's moose country, those things are f%^&in scary when they are running near you.
Phat_Kat those are just pics I took with my Fuji digi cam. Nothing special about it it just takes really good pictures.

So lets hear it, and where are the shots of your boat?? The water is REALLY dark in shadow mountain lake. We went out wakeboarding and were coming back into the island area to pick up some passengers we had just dropped off. Coming off plane entering into the island area I had slowed down to like 5 MPH and was still slowing down all the sudden i heard it BAM BAM BAM BAM the drive itself actually got hung up on the rock or whatever it was. I have driven the boat in that area tons of times and never hit or seen anything submerged.
I'll put up some boat shots tonight in fact I have some pictures of me finally to put up.

Dam good thing you didn't swing in towards the island on the wakeboard or fall onto that rock..... Headlines would read- "Denver man kiesters Boulder in the Rockies and dies"

Boozer - If the high is only 80 during the day...what is the water temp? eek! Surface temp of Grand Lake is 64.2 However, Grand Lake is estimated to be over 3,0000 feet deep in the center so below surface temperatures are about 55 if not colder. Shadow Mountain Lake isnt very deep so the surface temps run about 70. Below surface is probably 60 or so. Very cold water. I'd say on the hottest of hot days Grand lake MIGHT see 92 degrees.
