If you work on keyboards, you might check and see if that caps lock button is working on yours so it doesn't look like you're yelling. :D

RD RD, there's a guy in San Diego who does. Company is The Speakerman. In your opinion is it worth doing? 2ndly is it too "costly" to the point of it just being worth buying new speakers? last question, are the speakers about like new when there done?
RD All they really do is replace the surround and check solder (if any) connections. I don't think they re-cone or repair(replace) voicecoils...
Depending on the speaker and what you're doing, replacing the driver is usually a best bet.

Riverdave, it might be reasonable to buy new speakers if your talking about boat or home speakers. To recone those type of speakers really is not a good idea.

The outside speakers that are in the walls are made by the same people but it's a 12inch driver with a little smaller cone inside the big cone but attached to it so I don't think you'd call it a CoAxial.
RD Like a whizzer cone style deal???

RiverDave:
I'm pretty sure they don't make these "style" of drivers anymore. I've looked high and low (everywhere) and have never found anything that looks like them.
There the speakers in the wall of my RiverHouse.
They are a 12 inch Driver that's kinda like a Coaxial with a Horn in the middle. The outside speakers that are in the walls are made by the same people but it's a 12inch driver with a little smaller cone inside the big cone but attached to it so I don't think you'd call it a CoAxial.
Are you aware of any 12 inch in wall speakers for home stereo that are a "full range" speaker?
As well as Outside In wall speakers that are full range?
RD Do you remember the name of the MFG?

Say Wet
Can you do a 20 dB headroom mod to a DA-88.
Also,
Can you build a speed sensitive stereo for my boat? The damn thing gets real loud when I'm going real fast.
Also,
What tubes to you recommend to use for a Pultec EQP-1A3
Now about that tube-type MP3 player....
Thanx,
Funkcity.................out

RiverDave:
Jordy, what's a "whizzer?"
RD The paper center cone used to reproduce mid and high range frequencies in a speaker rather than using a separate tweeter. Usually doesn't produce the best sound either.

Perhaps we could take up a collection to purchase some new speakers for Casa de Johnson. Maybe someone even has some laying around their house from a previous upgrade. :D

Yo RD.... re-coning a speaker properly is effectively having a new speaker ...new voice coil new cone usually 50% or less of a new driver(assuming it was a real driver in the first place, there are "disposable" drivers).... call orange county speaker they are pretty good, and they probably have the most recone kits in stock in this area...OR.... I have some small renkus heinz sattelite speakers I will part with cheap I wanna say they have a 6" and a 3/4" tweeter...not much bass but will handle some power...lets say $$mmmmm I dunno a free weekend's stay at the river PAD oh LOVE lol....let me know :D
