How many outlets can be safely put onto one circuit? A 20A will carry what plus a light or a 30A? The house was wired years ago and I'm upgrading. Can I put 2 rooms (boys room and the den) on one? Whats a guideline to follow?

You are running wire? What size is the wiring? distance of the runs, etc

I'm running a 12-2 G, NM-B 600V wire. The farthest point is 50' from the room to the breaker box.
I was thinking of tying one room together, Jbox it, another room together, Jbox it, and run one wire to the panel to supply the two J's.

You can run up to twelve points. An outlet counts as two and a lamp counts as one point. So if it is just outlets you can run six, or twelve lights or four outlets four lights etc....

I suppose a 4 plug outlet box counts as 4?

one to each room and if memary is right
you can go with 14-2 wire 15 amp circuit
that will get you 5 plugs and one light
20 amp circuit are for apliances
go to home depot they have pemlets on how to for wiring
