3 wax coat minimum each trip. 1 coat before closing to be safe. I do 4 at start and when I'm done I do 2. This may seem like overkill but the boat is going on 24 years and I still get asked, "where did you find the mold to build this thing?" Because it looks that good. All the time from the 18-24 year olds "Driving daddy's new boat?" Then I tell them "well it was my dad's boat starting from 1980 yuk "

The stuff I use is called the ultimate snow and watersraft polish. The boat looks great when I am finished and I have never had anything that protects the gel coat as well. It is petroleum based. jawdrop

I just use the kitpro or whatever. It comes in a yellow can and it works fine. They're all the same stuff.
