I have actually ... only where I come from they call them barbuts :rolleyes: and they weren't those huge freaky monsters that somebody posted on this forum a while back. eek! Biggest catfish/barbut I'd ever seen until those pics was maybe a foot long and maybe 5 inches at the widest part. Short chubby little buggers. :D

Are you serious?
Catch them all day long every weekend for kicks.
We throw them back. Most others keep them.
Have a fish fry regularly at the hang out beach. Cook them with propane deep fryers. Breaded with corn meal and flour.
Where have you guys been?

Oh yeah my grandma's boyfriends sun inlaw is a diver and he dives in the mississippi around the locks and he said that there are catfish down there that could swallow a grown man in one gulp eek!

Dude cat fish are the best fighters next to northern! I love it when thay start that rollin on the bottom when you hook em. they make awsome cutlets fry em up in beer batter!! :cool:

Croppy are good around here in the spring! there is this sand cory where I grew up and in the spring we would go there and as soon as the MR twisy would hit the water bam croppy on the line all day long!
