Hey everyone, I just bought an Ultra 21 LX used. The cover is really filthy dirty, but otherwise in very good condition. Have any of you had your boat covers cleaned? If so can you steer to a place or to the type of business you had do it?
Thanks a million...

Laundromat? They have big machines so it should fit...delicate cycle. Hang dry. Soak it in a bucket of waterproofer like Thompsons,or better to make it rain resistant again.
No guarantees, just a guess...If it is old, it may just fall apart.

I just had mine done.
$40 for a wash and waterproofing at my local dry cleaners.

Dry Cleaner is probably your best bet. Depends on condition and material as to what type of cleaning can be done.

How would a dry cleaners water proof a Boat Cover
I would think if its Sumbrella...they, the manufacture wants you to spray 303 Fabric Guard on it. At least thats what they told me, and that stuff aint cheep!

HammerDown:
How would a dry cleaners water proof a Boat Cover..I think they used an industrial equivalant- they guaranteed the treatment, so I guess it is canvas (Sunbrella) friendly- not sure if it was 303.
My only disappointment is that I had a few small blue runs in the white strips (I have 3 colors)afterward...but it really came clean.

Hmmmm, do ya think it also had a UV protector in it like 303?
If so I'll have to look into that next season...heck a gallon of 303 is over $50.00 eek!

Thanks all...I will be calling my dry cleaner down the street. Hopefully they have this service as well.
