Can anyone tell me if $6000 is a good price for a 95 F350 with a 460 and 98000 miles? The overall condition of the truck is great but I was wondering about the reliability of the 460. It is also only a rear wheel drive truck. Thanks!

Try Kelley Blue Book (http://www.kbb.com) , you can punch in your zip code to find out what it's going for in your area.

I would think there is lots of miles left on that truck. Is it worth 6K? Well, it might be. How bad do you want it? A new one would be mid to high 30's.
I bought a high mileage '93 F150 Supercab that is very clean for 2,200. I sold a run to death '84 one ton chevy duelly for 3,800. That one was whipped too.

The 460 will be the last thing to go on the truck. It is a good solid no frills engine. I have a buddy that pulls a 36 Fountain with his truck and engine always runs great. He had to replace the transmission at around 80K.

I had over 200,000 on mine when I sold it. Pulled a 36' Fifth-wheel with it. Transmission rebuilt at 170,000 and put a new rear-end in at the same time.

I've got a 97 F250 with the 460 and it runs great. 102,000 miles. Still runs as smooth as the day I got it. (new) Done the brakes once and tires twice. Belts once. Plugs once. Regular oil changes at 4-5000 miles. Recently did the thermostat, rotor and distibutor cap. With the exception of simple maintenace its been essentially problem free.
I think since the engine is so big, it doesn't have to work very hard.
I got into an accident with some economy 4 door. Totalled her car. She pulled a left turn right in front of me. She went away in an ambulance. I wasn't even wearing my seat belt, and walked away with only a small bruise from my pager. The only damage to the truck was a bent bumper.
I did have a Bobcat drop a stump into the bed one time, which crushed the fuel lines, they run over the frame right under the bed........that was annoying.....
I'd buy another. :p

We had an older ('77?) 460 PI, and it was a POS!
By 75k it was smoking so badly we couldnt drive it. The valve train was full of noise, and it could have been coined the "Ford Valdez" for the amount of oil it leaked.
Now it may have been because of the PI designation, but we never went back to Ford after that.
Current ride...a lowly '89 Chevy 1500 Silverado w/350 TBI...205k, and just about all of it pulling boats. :D
Just my $.02. :p

sounds like a good price, i had a 79 with a 460, bad on gas but indestructable, it was turnin 44's no problem.
a friend has a 97 with a diesel and loves it, so i ould think it is a good buy

Is the '95 a crew cab?
Regardless, $6K seems like a smokin' deal(especially if a crew cab).
I get offers for my '95 (with Roll-Along package) in the $12K range.

if you are looking for what the value is, it would depend on the market you live in. Here in New Mexico, we have alot of ranchers and that truck would be worth more here than in a metro area. But find out who your local banks or lenders use (book guide) most use either Kelly or Nada. You can get an estimated value online from either. Being a salesmanager at a large Ford store, I can tell you that here that truck would be worth about half that much if it is 4x2.

Yes this truck is a crew cab (4 door) it has the 40/20/40 front seat, dual rear wheels and every available option except for 4 wheel drive. I know it will probably be a little hard on gas but it will primarily be used for a tow vehicle. I have my Z34 for commuting and the g/f has her S10 crew cab.
