What a great weekend. Our team finished 8th, which I think is pretty damn good for a small team without the resources of the big boys.
I had the pleasure of meeting burbanite, we spoke briefly but didn't have enough time to talk about boating. Hope you are coming to TMS in a couple of weeks, burb.
My primary job is to handle sponsor tours. I take groups through the garage and pits, tell 'em how everything works, and answer questions. I also run errands, go out to the transporter to grab stuff, and other no brain chores. It's all for free but I have a blast.
Occasionally it gets real fun, like on Carb Day when I had to escort the sponsor models around the track. Just stay there in front of me, girls. Talk about causing a commotion, heheh. :D :D The chopper supposedly cost $150K to build. No report on what the seat covers are worth.

I'll add my own report to this.
We finished 4th and (whoops!) 17th.
Cars were fast all day, both guys led at various times, Tomas, with 63, led the most laps of all the drivers.
Scott led initially until the fuel pressure dropped suddenly and he had to coast into the pits for fuel. There were 11 gallons left in the cell so we had some kind of a pickup issue and for the rest of the day had to pit every 22 laps - not what you want, a green flag stop meant going a lap down each time, that made for a long day but he dug in and got his lap back each time.
By the end both guys were in the lead pack with fuel to go to the end, Scott made a numbnuts move while warming his tires for the restart and brushed the wall bending the front and rear trackrods!
By the time the last stint began and the fast cars were all together it was all over, no one could pass anyone else, they were too evenly matched in speed. It used to be that you didn't want to be leading going into the last lap because you would get nailed in a drafting duel but the way the cars were Sunday it was line astern until the flag.
Oh well, there's always next year.....
The chopper that rrrr is referring to is one of the bikes featured on the American Chopper series and was the most expensive bike they had built to date. Those chicks sure were the hit of the week, I wanted to trade jobs with him that day.

Well, due to other engagements I had to miss Indy this year cry , but plan to be there next year smile_sp ....My in-laws went hand had a blast, just like they've had for the last 27 years.....I cant wait for them to get home to see his video. He got that big wreck with the air time on film at eye level. The carnage rested close to in front of them...
Hope you guys continue to do well! :)
Chris

I wasn't gonna say it... :D :D
Very neighborly of Scott, we need the extra dough that position represented, heheh. wink Seriously though, he drove his arse off and it's too bad that happened.
Definitely my most exciting Indy in a while, getting a primary sponsor for the rest of the season is huge.

I would think that getting the trimmings that go along with that primary sponsor would be worth it alone... http://216.40.249.192/s/contrib/ed/wink.gif
