By SARAH KAHNE News West LAUGHLIN — A new recreational facility, boasting a marina, clubhouse, pool, office, retail store and restaurant, boat parking, launch ramps, a beach, a picnic area and a riverwalk is planned in Laughlin, on land adjacent to where Casino Drive meets Needles Highway. Sam Wacht of CRM Colorado Marina, LLC went before the Laughlin Town Advisory Board on May 27 to gain approval for his plans for a recreational facility and a boat and trailer storage compound. Wacht gained approval for the recreational facility and the board’s recommendation will be taken into account by the county commissioners when issuing the permit. The use permit request for the storage facility was tabled until the next meeting, so board members had the opportunity to see the location of the proposed storage area and also see conceptual designs to guarantee that the building would match the rest of the project. Wacht took board members Brian Brody and Gary Hood, along with Jo Elle Hurns of the Laughlin Chamber and Deborah Murray of the town manager’s office down to the site to show locations for the different amenities and the location of the storage facility. The marina would consist of 82 slips and 26 side ties. The entire recreational facility would be housed on 15 acres of land along the Colorado River, whereas the boat storage is closer to the highway than the river on 2.1 acres of land. While the initial plans consist of the recreation and storage facilities, Wacht plans to also build a residential area in a later phase. The storage compound would consist of a storage area, boat repair shop, a sales and rental office and a manager’s apartment. A recommendation regarding the storage facility is expected at the next town board meeting, scheduled for June 10 at the Regional Government Center at 1:30 p.m.
This sounds very cool...

Funny thing is I was at an architect's office about a year ago and saw a picture on the wall. I said that looks like Laughlin, he proceeded to tell me about this place and the design. Looks like it is coming to life, not that we need more traffic there

Where are they talkin about???? They need to freakin develop Katherines Landing more. Launching at the river there isn't usually a problem. It's already too damn crowded with lake lice around Davis Camp anyway.

Isn't this near where the bare abandoned structure is?

Isn't this near where the bare abandoned structure is? I hope they check to see if this guy has the finances in line to finish the project.
