Hey guys, forgot to list that I have one used 500 HP EFI setup, $4500 complete and not the typical used parts complete, actually a full kit. 6 month warranty, blue finish. Let me know if anybody is interested.
Thanks,
Dustin

10 to 1 that does not include install, but I still think it is a great deal...have not seen one used cheaper than that, and that is about 63 to 64% of retail new. Go for it..

dcb/carrera, sorry, installation would start at $1000 but is surely worth it.
I do need a 500HP EFI to test our stg. 3 package, but that would be more money, about 2000 more. Stg3 has massive intercooler and 3.3L supercharger vs. 2.3L.
Thanks,
Dustin
Mbrown, we gotta get some Dart Pro One heads on your boat, I guarantee it will be very worth while, you won't believe the difference!!! In that boat, you'll probably pick up another 8-10mph.

Dustin,
I am assuming you know my setup? Also, what gives, do you have the heads you are trying to get rid of for a good price, or is this all in the effort of testing? or getting my sled to move faster? Shoot me an Email or PM, I am always interested in making the sled go faster.

Mike37,
Hey, you know that HTM really, really picks up speed with the SC, they love power. How does it run now? One of the first ones we did had the 496HO and it ran about 66-68, then it went about 94-96 afterwards. Went from a std 22 to a labbed 30.
Thanks,
Dustin

Dustin Dustin, 30 mph??????? From 425HP to what????? Seems like pretty good numbers, do you have test report or something confirming this?

boatfloating, no test confirmation, just speedo to speedo on many hours of testing. If you do approx. the same speed, I would expect somewhere around the same speed with the same combo.
boardsmnj, in his case, it's $6695 plus installation and prop, most others, you can tack on some serious dough. 30mph is not typical, but because the boat is not packing enough air with stock power, it really responded to 200+hp. Motor will live a long time, it's only 6lbs. of boost with a max rpm of 5450. I have no reason to make this up, I thought it was incredible, typical gains with the exact same kit is 10-16mph on v bottoms and 15-20 on cats. Some will pick up 8 and some will pick up 30, but thats not typical.

Dustin, Do you think I should add the Dart Pro 1 heads to my setup? With the Ultra 247 do you think I would notice the difference? So is my EFI setup a 2.3? Or 3.3? If its not the 3.3 why wasn't I told about it, or was it not available when Gary did my install last season?
Thanks NB

Nashvillebound,
It wasn't available and still isn't readily available until I finish the mapping. We've done a lot of custom setups, but none directly on the 500HP EFI. But for the Darts, huge difference, you can up the boost to about 8lbs., a bit more timing and you'll make about 800hp.
Thanks,
Dustin

my Cougar 27MTR ran 78 before whipple 102 after (HP500 EFI).
Dustin: I may be a player on the dart setup. I just upgraded to an XR sportmaster drive. If I took my boat out to ya, what kinda $ should I expect to pay? (less prop)

Yeah, a cat with stock non-HP power typically isn't working efficiently. I picked up 43 mph going from a stock 454 Mag to a blown 509 :D

XLGPP,
I don't actually do the head work, I try to stick to the SC only. Might want to try and call GT Performance in Montclair, Gary there can help ya. I work with him on many projects. 909.982.8391.

My 26 Mach DCB ran 82 MPH before the Whipple, now it runs 93-94 . Any ideas???? As of today, no prop or drive work has been done.

something wrong. Who did your Whipple? better have it looked at quick. if your not getting fuel, you will lean and torch #7 1st, if not more.

Yeah, I would have that boat looked at, might be pulling timing out because of detonation or something else. Should be much closer to 100 unless theres a prop problem or something.
Thanks,
Dustin

Dustin,
Be advised I had the boat looked at by your recommended GT Performance. They said the boat looked fine. They test drove and tried different props and the best that Gary could get it was 93-94. By the way did I forget to say that this was done after Gary fixed the burned out head gasket in the #7 cylinder of the motor. I have called several times prior to the head gasket blowing out about the fuel pressure problems I was having and your response was check the electrical connections in the fuel pump, the timing, and so forth. I had the work done by DCB and took the boat back to them. They checked the timing, electrical connections, and fuel pressure. Everything checked out ok according to the paperwork that was sent with the system. The computer was sent back to you twice because of the idle and fuel pressure problems. The computer was reprogrammed and it fixed the problems on the surface, but the damage was already done to the head gasket. After a few trips, I noticed the boat was losing power. I took it back home and dropped it at GT Performance, where he found the Head Gasket in the #7 cylinder burned out. So now I have a boat that runs 93-94, but was told from the beginning that it should do at least 100.
