RTJas :D that's the problem, I AM in the Bay Area...well, just north of it in Sonoma.
What gets me is there's a lot of state employees around here, including my wife, that were against the recall. 4 months ago they got notice they were going to get a 5% pay cut on top of not having a raise in the past 5 years.
Obviously my wife and I don't talk politics but I do get my digs in :D
Look honey, Arnold won! :p
Oh shut up burningm

I feel your pain Cas,
My wife is a teacher, and most of her friends are teachers.
And, I live in the Bay Area. Democratic lemming headquarters.
I was reading reports about interviews during exit polls in Berkely. One woman was "terrified" that Arnold would be elected. She hated Davis, but I guess he wasn't particularly frightening.
I guess she never worked for him.

Cas, where would be a good winery or wineries to go to on a day trip from sacto??? What kind of wine would you like to drink...err, taste? There's quite a few around here that are real good. Sebastiani is one of my favorites.
BR Cohn, Buena Vista, Benziger, Kendall Jackson, Kenwood vineyards and a lot of smaller ones are also good. If you like champagne, Gloria Ferrer is good. Planning a trip soon?

My wife and I went to Stags Leap, BR Cohn and a few others. They are all on the same road if I remember right. That was a good tour. We personally like Sonoma better than Napa. I little less commercialized in the wine tasting area.

Look where I live, San Mateo County. I am surrounded by liberals. Please send help.
This county voted 63% against, SF (north) 80% against, Santa Clara (south) 65% against, Marin 68% against, etc.
I guess everyone else is lucky that the entire population of the liberal bay area can fit into LA with room to spare.
I will bet you that every vote for Peter Camejo came from SF.
the map link.

BTW I vote for V Sattui Winery. nice place to visit. I like BV or clois du bois, too

Hey Dave C, we're all surrounded by liberals, we live in California. Thank god that the liberals are as mad as everyone else!!
Plus most of us (libs, conservs, indys) are pretty moderate. Hopefully the legislaters get the message too.

I don’t feel so nervous now.
In San Mateo county the votes were pretty even if you look at Republican & Demos. Tom & Arnold combined were 82,544 and Cruz was 79,747.
But SF is crazy. Cruz got 132,123 and Arnold & Tom were 51,243. And Peter Camejo (socialist party) got more votes in SF than Tom (13,205 vs 11,913).
For those that have not been to SF, it is a lot of fun. The city officials fall over themselves to prove who is more liberal than the other guy, even though they are all liberals. Their unstated motto, conservatives need not apply.

At my office this morning, people are downright pissed! They're all spewing thier LA Times / ACLU bullshit and claiming that now, the sky really is falling. They still don't get it.
