Finally! Death be dealt to telemarketers!
Actually here in PA they have had a similar list for quite some time. My wife signed us both up about a year ago and wow what a differance.
Don't forget that certain kinds of calls are still permitted. Such as political, surveys, not profit org's.

if you start calling people at dinner time and tell them you'll put them on the list for 5.00 you could make alot of gas money :D

Just registered all my numbers. :)
Interisting side note is the argument the lobbyist had against this was the amount of money spent by customers on telemarketing was a huge amount that would likely impact the economy  (not sure if it really would)
But could the economy afford any small percent of a decline.Or will people still spend the money and still buy the product because now they have to go look for it.Just a thought.
Still hate the phone calls though
BTW any one know if there is a site on line to register for the davis recall?

about the negative effect on the economy, i don't nor do i know anyone (maybe they don't admit it :D )who buys something or a service from tele-marketers...the people who do buy from them probably won't put their name on the list....

As far as I am concerned the list should be for those who WANT to be called ..... It never fails that the work of getting away from marketing maggots falls on those who do not want those ****ing calls .... BAN ALL THAT SHIT !~

I dont like telemarketers like the rest of you.
But I feel really bad after I say I am not intersted, they are trying to do their job and get paid just like the rest of us.
I used to be a telemarketer and hated every minute of it. :)

I also found out I could not click on the link, but I found out how to get through and register. The link they give you which starts with http://donotcall and ends with a shit load of numbers preceded by your phone number can be typed in exactly like it appears in your e-mail. Then click go and it registers in a matter of seconds. Pain in the ass, especially if you have multiple numbers, but it works. HEY TELEMARKETERS!!!! Tryy window EEEEEEEEE :D

Please make note, the prohibition on telemarketing does not begin until October 2003.

That site's lame. Verify links don't work...wonder why?
When telemarketers call I say no thanks. When they don't understand my simple no, as NONE of them do, I say put me on the no call list. Usually that shuts their traps. But lately, not even that's enough, they go into a speil about how they need to verify this and that and so on, etc. etc. before they can complete my do not call request, so I hang up.
F*cking leaches of society.
So don't feel bad about hanging up on telemarketers. They bank on you feeling guilty to make the sale. Or when they call ask them if they feel good about the lying worthless jobs they do. Ask them if they considered getting a real job? Help motivate them to find something productive to do with self esteem so they can sleep at night. Fools!
I'm surprised someone in gov finally had the balls to do something about this plague. Considering pressure from telemarketer lobbiest and all.

The links do not work because they are getting over a thousand hits per minute. Keep trying, you will get through.
