I believe Eliminator was the originator of the 20.6' daycruiser. Everyone splashed it! Its still a great hull and bottom.

IMHO I think Cheetah started it all...they never splashed anyone wink

Now why would you think Cheetah's were splashed from something else? With the exception of the 25 mold that he purchased when Virage went belly-up, I believe that his current offerings are all Cheetah-Bob originals. They all have fairly unique lines and bottoms all their own. I don't know about the stuff he was building in the 70s so if you're referring to those my comments don't apply...
And yeah I agree, that Eliminator 20 sport daycruiser model is a timeless classic. Looked great then and still does today.

I heard that back in the heyday of splashing alot of Eliminators were splashed. The 20.5 Sport Cruiser was a tuff looking boat, but there sure are alot of other boats with the same lines.

The 20.5 Sport bottom was originally from Crusader Boats. Not sure about the deck.

Looks very similar to the Nordic 20 and the Centurian 20, Tahiti looks close too.
Cheaper to copy something that woerks than to design, tool up and test a new design.

Campbell was the originator of the mini-cruiser style. They shrunk their 24' down to the 20'
Spectra was an off shoot of Campbell after the brothers that built the Campbells split up.
The Eliminator is not a splash of the Campbell or Spectra, just a similar style. if I recall correctly, the bottom on the Eliminator has more V than the other two.

Correction to my previous post...Mohavekid is right, that hull came from Centurion Boats, not Crusader. The owner of Eliminator told me that years ago when I was buying the boat from them.

Agree with ThunderButt. Bob and Bill Campbell built their daycruiser hulls in the early 50s in California, the granddaddy of all daycrusiers. Other companies, like Eliminator, took the design, changed, updated, and improved it, and on and on. Oh yeah, back in the mid 60s, Beismeyer of all brands, made some of the first jet powered daycrusiers and sold quite a few of them. Just my recollection. :D
