My boys are 4 and 9. I agree with ya. My boys won't be talkin like that around their mom, just out of respect. They'll come to learn that they are not adults, and they won't speak like one. Shit I do enough of that for all of us. When it comes to making comments about women, alot of times my wife will beat me to the punch. "Nice rack, she says". To get back on the subject, the Mrs. and I bust our asses the old fashioned way; hard work and plenty of it. I work full time all day as a product manager for K&N filters and then go clean a dental office for an hour or so after that. The Mrs. does pest control weekdays and runs a horse and carriage biz (weddings, etc.) on the weekends. Even with all that its tough to have anything extra for toys but its the only way we can afford them.

But I have a sandrail, Quad, lifted truck, car and a boat. The boat is the first thing I have ever financed in my life. I was just wondering what other people do? I am not planning on staying in the military and it seems like other jobs pay way better than mine. Also since I am a male I can never be satisfied w/ my toys. Always room for upgrade.

How the hell can you afford all those toys on that income?
Being in the military is a good start to being financially successful. Military experience looks better on a resume then a college degree, you put both those things on a resume and you are gonna have some serious big $$$ potential. The key is to maximize your potential and go with it. Take risks and bust your ass. You can't make money if your not willing to take a risk here and there. Some risks bigger then others.

Well I really deprive myslef of luxuries during the week so I can go play on the weekends. I think the lake all weekend or the dunes for that matter. Is way more fun that a local bar on Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur, Fri. That is what most of my buddies do. I have taken college, military pays for all my credit hrs (just not books). getting out in 6months and hoping to find something that will allow me to keep my lifestyle

To add to the list, you would also be charged as a Sex Offender and would be on the books for it, you know how it goes, all the ones you try not to live around for your kids sake. Even though it's not that BIG of a deal, you would still have that charge hanging over your head. And they throw the book at you and put you on the pervert list (sex offender list) if you're arrested for hanging a moon - that's a helluva charge for showing the backside! Don't wanna drop trou in public at all - that sex offender $hit is some very serious stuff (very hard to get a real job with that on your record).

Director of Sales & Marketing for a high-tech startup company in Burbank ("only" 10 hours a day, 5 days a week - that's a normal work day for most people I think).
Part time spent improving the house, shopping for a new custom boat, hanging out at lakes and river with friends who have boats :D and having "fun" with the wife (I might need to get her on the forums to talk with these other women "on the dark side"). And I spend a few minutes a day wink here on this board and a few other ones.

Today we ran Code 3 to a nearby park where Mercy Air landed their chopper. We picked up the team and ran Code 3 to the ER to pick up our patient who had a AAA {aortic abdominal aneryisim}. We took him back to the chopper where he was to be air lifted to UCLA. I hope he pulls through. There was a mob of children with their parents looking on and cheering when the chopper took off. Its not everyday that a chopper lands in a park.

There was a mob of children with their parents looking on and cheering when the chopper took off. Reminds me of the chopper ride I had from Lake Mohave to UMC in Vegas, the day I had a close encounter with a prop. Can't say enough good things about those EMT's. There's nothing like the sound of an inbound Huey, and there's nothing quite like morphine.

I work for Bechtel Engineering in the Plant Layout Department. We design the piping systems in the refineries and chemical plants all over the world. I have two 21" monitors in front of me and do all the piping design in the computer. We work 9-80's and I have every other Friday off, unless we are working overtime. I also get 5 weeks vacation. I get to do a lot of camping and boating. Pictures are coming, in a few days, of all my toys. Oh ya, and I really like my job.

I do complete rebuilds on hydraulic equipment of all types , run a lathe, milling machine, cylindrical grinder, hard chromeplate parts , maintain the machinery in our shop, make deliveries- Anything our company needs me to do. We manufactured the hydraulic cylinders on the arm that reaches down off the ship to recover the solid rocket boosters off of the space shuttle! Check out our website if you're interested....Click on the link below. What are you doing in the military that is applicable to civilian life? Service of any type in the military with an honerable discharge always looks good on a resum'e to an employer. :) I also work on a few drag boats in my spare time wink Tim :D
