Turning in the 21LX

My wife and I went to the boat show last night and decided to turn in our trusty 21 and upgrade to the 247 with the 496. Any opinions or advice from 247 owners?

Nice boat an hull. Its not much bigger than the 21 LX inside though

Yeah I lost a little in the main cabin but we really dig the mid cabin seats that we dont have now, one of which will be designed to hold a stainless Ultra cooler that matches the upholstery. I figure getting the cooler off of the floor will give us more space also.

Yea I hear ya. It nice to have a place to get out of the sun from time to time! That boat with the 496 will outrun the LX too if the LX is a jet.

My 21LX is running an I/O. Mercruiser 454 with 3 blade stainless mirage, I think it is a 22 pitch. I have GPS'd it at a little under 60 mph fully loaded. The estimate on the 247 with the 496 with 2 passengers and full tank and cooler are 70mph. I am hoping to be able to hit that.

Are you getting a closed bow or open/cuddy style? Also, if your going 496, get the HO.

I am going with the open bow cuddy. they have two versions of interior for the front end. One open carpeted version with three cup holders on each side or an enclosed upholstered version w/two cup holders. I am going with the upholstered one because I can fit in a speaker on each side in front of the cup holder. I am going with the six speaker, two sub stereo system.
