I'm sort of bummed out. I don't have any blinking lights in my boats. Where do you get one?

I bet it is the "Fireboy" extinguisher or something. My guess is something is armed, and that is an indicator of some sort.

I have the same light on my volvo dp 7.4 and I was told that the red light is a warning light that is attached to your outdrive. When the light stays solid, that indicates that the drive has built up corrosion and needs to be cleaned.
I have always left the batteries attached and never had a problem... just make sure to turn your switch off.

could it be a merchatode system indicator light[anti galvanic corrosion ] ? Is your boat moored or sits on a trailer?

go to google, type in merchatode .It will show you that it's an automatic halon fire system.I don't think a "blinking light" would drain your batteries unless it's 150.000 candlepower :D . Call the dealer like super V suggested wink .

i talked to the dealer and they told me it was for corrosion and that it is normal. i appreciate all input even the smart ass ones im glad i could amuse you all. my boat sits on a trailer so i dont see a need for it but as long as it isnt hurting any thing i will leave it alone.

First you get a roll of black electrical tape, (if you want to get fancy you can color match to you liking). Then you tear off a small section of this tape and apply to the little light. Sometimes the simple fix is so obvious you miss it.

hey i figured it out. all i had to do was disconnect some wires and smash the light with a screw driver handle. and to think the solution was right under my nose. ive been told never to over look the obvious.
