After this stupid virus thing.....I had to do a system recovery on my computer and re-install everything. Everything except my scanner will work. Call the company today and the guy I spoke to didn't speak very good English. So....it is still not working. I really want to post pics....but do not know how to fix the scanner... any info. would help. Thanx.

I'm sure there is something in FAQ or a support page. And yes, NONE of the tech people speak very good english.

The only thing I could think of is turn your computer off. Unplug the scanner and then try plugging it back in. If you have a disk to install the scanner reinstall it and try it again. Otherwise I have no clue. I am the only one at home that tries to fix things, especially if it's electronics. I had the same virus, but I have not tried the scanner since so I'm not even sure mine works. I guess I can try it now and see.....

I have re-installed the sofeware.....I have unplugged everything and re-plugged it at least 20 times today...It is pissing me off  ....I think someone physcially needs to come over and see what I am talking about. Mr.909er is not good at anything that has to do with computers...so there is no help there.

Ok...here is what it says when I try to scan something:
Scanner is not found! Please check the following:
1) power adapt. is pluggged in the scanner connector.
2) usb cable is properly conn.w/ the scanner and PC
3) usb setting is enabled in BIOS
I went on Visioneer's web site....and it is a computer that talks back to you to help you out. You enter keywords and it gives you choices...except when I enter what the computer it is telling me is wrong....it gives me choices....none of which have to do with my problem. Called the number(925) 251-6397 and the automated thing asks for the model number.(5820)Then it says that it is not one of their model numbers and hangs up on me. WTF

What operating system are you running? I am having the same problem with my all in one scanner/fax/printer. I called the company, uninstalled, installed a million times and still nothing. I cannot open some files and cannot open mp3's. It's pissing me off and I thought I was the only one with this problem. If you fix it, please let me know. I have run anti virus protection software two times and it shows no viruses. I don't know what to do at this point. BTW, I am running MS Millenium Edition.

Only once this has happened to me, but if I install my satellite software for the modem and I have the virus protection already installed it won't work. I have to uninstall the virus crap then reinstall the satellite software, then reinstall the virus software.
Just a thought

Sounds like it could be your usb drivers. Turn the computer off then plug the scanner back it if it doesn't find new hardware and load the drivers it is not detecting the usb ports in which the scanner is plugged in.

Yep....4 bunks in back and the slide out holds the dinette/kitchen and couch.....or bedroom is next to that. We figured it will be great w/ the kids. Except when we are driving the bunk doors keep on opening. We have to pull over to close them all the time. Were gonna install our own locks before we go again. idea

I love that trailer...where can you park it at Havisu????
I would love that...I'm tired of spending $200 a night at the London Bridge Resort.
