Are these types of pans worth the $$$ on a mild motor or does a stock pan work ok?

I have run a stock pan on my BBC with out any problems, but I have a theory. I run a stock oil pump. I also have always run one extra quart of oil. I have run this motor for three or four years with out any problems. However I just bought two V-Drive pans. wink I figured my luck could run out. :D
