First time on the boards. A friend told me I should check out the info on the boards if I was seriuos about getting another boat. I've been lurking for about 2 months and finally decided to jump on board(s) :D I've always had outboards in the past and will likely look for the same. What do you think is the minimum size tunnel for Havasu?

Hello Newbie.

25 feet. wink Wow....25ft. My last boat was 20. I've been in my friend 26 and his boat seemed BIG! 20-22 is too small? Does it get that churned up or do you just need a bigger boat to fit in?

Welcome! Don't get too spoiled riding around in your buddies F26... very nice boat! wink
Min size depends on what you want to do with it. If you want something that you can put the hammer down pretty much any time, then yeah 25 or bigger is the way to go. If you don't mind being more careful about water conditions, then a 21-22 will get you around just fine as well and give that awesome small boat acceleration.

Thanks DogHouse,
I was thinking of a DCB 22 w/300X. I may try a ride in one at Havasu on a weekend before I make the final decision. I like xfactors boat, but I have a budget. Damm cost of living is killing me  or maybe it's the cost of drinking eek!

I've never ridden in the DCB so can't say for sure. Without driving or riding in the two side by side on the same day and conditions it's hard to make useful comparisons. Even the driver can have a huge affect on how well the boat gets through the rough. Some will argue that point but that's the way I see it. I can say that I've been plenty satisfied with the ride and handling so far. It's like any tunnel, when in doubt, gas it! They definitely ride better at high speed. The trick is knowing when the water is too much to handle and when to back down!
