I have speakercrafts in my house, I think the model is Aim8. Not quite as clear sounding when you crank them as a good floor speaker, but for the small package, you can't go wrong. A bit pricy if you pay full retail for them, hopefully someone on the boards can hook you up.

Looks like the MT8's handle about 200 watts versus the AIM 8's at 100 watts, and they are both pretty price $800+ per pair. :yuk:

All depends on how you use them... I mean, you're not going to get tower speaker sound out of them .
If you plan to just run them as background music for around the house, I'd get a less expensive pair... just background...
If yo plan to run them in a theater, just how loud do you want to be and how much power do you plan to run?
There is compromise with inceiling/wall... no substitution for a speaker in an engineered enclosure...
Focal inceiling speakers sound nice :) Too bad you didn't want this stuff a month ago.. I could have hooked you up...

To be honest with you, I like loud and clean sound and am pretty spoiled with my home setup of Sunfire and B&W Sig 7NT's and a B&W Nautilus HTM1 center channel. I am looking to run a much smaller Denon 130 watt receiver with whatever speakers for full home theater and music enjoyment. Any more thoughts ??

Ultimately, you have to like the way they sound. I know they, like a few other speaker mfg's, have a rough in speaker enclosure available that will greatly improve performance.... The only way you're going to be >/= to your current setup is to run good performing speakers and sub in a h.o. 7.1 mode...

If you are not brand-specific, I am running the Paradigm AMS-250 in-walls. All 4 for 5.1 with the CC-370 bookshelf center. Harmon-Kardon 75X5 and they are great. I just put the same system in a friends house and he and his wife love them as well. Affordable at $450/pr., $300 for center.

They also have the AMS-350 that is double sized. If I had a bigger room, I would probably step up to these. I think they are around $900/pr.

It's called the Cache' 400 series... JM Labs maks great products...
I know Tweeter has then, but I'm sure they're available elsewhere... We played them in our test room, and they sounded absolutely great...

The Boston Acoustics VRI series are very, very nice as well...

The reason I suggest these is due to your current system..
BTW.. My own system consists of 6 Polk TC60i in ceiling speakers driven by an 80watt 6.1 Denon receiver and a 400 watt subwoofer... My room is 15-23... Movies are very lound and clear at my house

Riverhound has these with a nice big denon amp, and he loves them...
TC265I ould be a nice choice for you as well..

Yep, I am really happy with the Polks... Looked at a lot of other speakers and gave ROZ wide price range and he hooked me up with these. I am by no means an audiophile but, have listened to speakers with a significantly higher price tag a thought the Polks sounded better.

All I know is... listen to Roz. I did, and now my neighbors know when we are playing "The Matrix Revolutions"...
I don't know what ceiling speakers are that he sold me but I know that they are 8" speakers(2 pairs), plus JBL Studio 12" towers (not made anymore... too bad...) two 600 watt JBL Studio 12" subs and a JBL Studio LC2 dual 6" center channel with a Pioneer Elite 7.1 system.
I absolutely love it. Our theater is all soundproofed and acoustic re-inforced with bass traps and some ceiling work, and it really takes a lot of sound to make it happen in there. This does it big time.
