Hey Guys/Gals (You know who you are!),
Just wanted to let you know I had a *great* time this weekend hangin' out with you! Great to finally see the faces behind the "usernames"! Many kudos & thanks to all of those who helped out with Dave's "boat deck project"! Looks AWSOME!!!
I've posted a *few* pics that you can view at Parker/The Keys & The Boat Deck Project (http://community.webshots.com/user/nubbinchill)
Click on the album, then the thumbnails. Don't forget you can select "view actual size" to see the full picture. Feel free to dowload them to your computer. Let me know if you want any removed. Most are pretty kosher.
Dave, let us know if you ever need anymore help with the house! It's lookin' mighty fine!
Cheers ~RK

RK, Thanks for the pics. It was great to put a few more faces with names. The temps were cool, but a cool day at the River is better than a hot day at home :D :D . Havasu had a nice lightnig/thunderstorm Saturday afternoon, but the morning til around 3pm was great !!!! RTJ, I'll send ya a link for the pics I took of your boat when I get a chance to upload them. Just want to say thanks to Riverdave for letting us chill at his house for the world series and bbq.
Thanks to Boater Bill, Sannie and the Rascals for the delicious bbq
Thanks to the HB Jets for letting us camp with them

Charley sounds good! You don't need to worry about the water in the keys. The water goes down at night and rises back up mid morning. On the dock side of the boat it is 2-3 feet when the water is down, but the canal has a very drastic drop off. The other side of the boat would be floating in 6-7 feet of water. You don't have anything to worry about, worse case you raise your right hand drive just before you call it a night.

worse case you raise your right hand drive just before you call it a night.Since it will be your first trip out, I would raise the left drive because I don't think you will be making u-turns with that 29 in the canal. So your going to probably pull in there straight, and back out when leaving. :)

Charley, you'll have no problem with the 29 in the keys. With the twins, you'll be able to spin that thing on a dime. I had my Magic back there in July, and had no problems with water depth. See you at the parade in Havasu :D

I think your boat would just make that turn, but a 29' and with it being a cat it's wider at the front, making those tight spots harder to turn in. I'm just guessing here, but I think it would be very difficult to turn a 29' cat in Daves canal, maybe not even possible.

im 28'6 end to end with the tape pulled tight without a bend.j/k yea a 29 ft cat probaly would be a little tough but thats why there's an opening on each end.it will probaly be tougher going thru the bridge when the current is real good on the north end also.but i seem to make it fine in my 29.

10-29-2002, 02:56 PM
The Ole Party Cat is right around 28' from tip to the back of the outdrive. If the pole is up, I can't cruise through the Keys, so I have to spin her around in the canal, I've never had a problem.

Besides, I think it's easier for them when wearing bikini's, right?

nodigg you got a point there. this needs to happen during the winter so that the ladies will have improved upon their skills by the time summer rolls and around.
Ok so the rules are:
contestants must wear a bikini
bonus points if its a thong
judging based upon how well they navigate the parking lot and how much skin is visible.
am i missing anything here?

Hey Dave...At OP63 I had the trailer in the water on the launch ramp at LaPaz before Randy even got there in the boat.
And...this last weekend MissCyclone had backed in the trailer at Echo's launch ramp (which is the worst ramp Ive seen), and Cyclone drove his boat right onto the trailer.
I think every girl knows her mans truck.

you guys are in trouble if we have the girls trailer log jumping contest because missb is the best.j/k she has gotten a lot better towards the end of the year!LOL My wife BC likes to play bumper trailer with all the other trailers, boats, trash cans, cement walls, and anything else within 20 feet, she just drives the boat now but that even gets crazy, in that last 3 feet she takes our 20ftr and parks it sideways on the trailer :) But Ya gota love her

I'd let MrsRTJas back the trailer for me, but it's too hard to get the boat onto a jack-knifed trailer halfway up the ramp. I'm sure it's my fault. J/K :D She's learning though! wink

I'm a lucky mofo. My wife backs up the trailer awesome! Were pretty much on and off the ramp in 45-60 seconds most times.

I didn't even have to teach her(Thanks dad-in-law) I just give her a few pointers now and then. She is more comfortable with the truck and trailer than the boat. Now if I could get the damn Suburban to pull the boat out.

Ya know I'm going to keep my mouth shut on this one. But if your having chicks back up trailers in a "competition" I happen to know of a certain "chicky" that I'd put my money on everytime. She hasn't been mentioned yet either. But if the prize is "beers" then I'll be hanging out over by Hustlers cooler. :D
RDI have to agree with dave here, if I was to lay down any kind of bet it would be on Fufu for sure wink it's like money in the bank (or beer in the cooler) :D

Hello i'm new to the web site.Looking at your pic's and post's really looked like fun.But if i may ask where on the river are you at?I'd like a place like that to go to on the weekend's.So if anyone can help me please do so.I live in Phoenix Az and it would be great to just getaway and run my boat on the river since i've never been there.
I don't mean to be pushy and if i am i'm sorry.
Thank you for your help.

There's a few lakes over here we go to.But they are getting smaller and smaller with no rain or snow fall. Are those homes time shared or rented or can you purchase them and where in Parker are they. The lakes over here really suck but we do the best we can. Thanks RiverDave for your help

Cheyenne 572Come on, they're not that bad. Where do you ususally go? Horseshoe, Bartlett and Roosevelt are the only ones that are really down that far. Everything below Roosevelt was at 95% and more all Summer. Bartlett wasn't even that bad, as long as you had 4WD to get the boat in and out... had some really nice sandy beaches. You have to admit that it is pretty nice to have 6 lakes to go to within a couple hour drive.

95% i must be in the wrong lake.I go to Lake Pleasent or Barlett but they are either to small or there is those 30plus feet boats out there making monster roller's.My little 19ft Cheyenne handle them fine but i don't want to ruin it.RiverDave thanks for the info. and maybe i'll see ya at the river and i can put a face with the name's.Later

Cheyenne, those homes are in a place called "the keys" in Parker. The majority of them are owned and not rented. There are about 15-20 of them that are rented out. You can rent them just for the weekend or you can rent them month to month.
You can call
Don Denton reality
Robert Gory Reality
David Plunkett Reality (all of them in Parker)
for more details on how much they cost to rent/buy.
RDDave,
Could you give me a ballpark figure as far as how much a place in your area would cost to buy? I am talking about a fixer upper here.....

You'd be better off asking one of the reality companies, but from my knowledge a fixer upper would be 200-250.
I know of one guy that bought a house for 185 but it was a FIXER UPPER, and had still had some flood issues from back in the 80's when they flooded the river.

Cheyenne 572I've met this guy once before. He's kind of a fuddy duddy. You know the guy with a 90mph jet boat. Well, that's him, all talk. So if he challenges anyone in here to a race, especially if there's money involved, take him up on it. He's lucky to run high 60s.

Chey,
Don't worry, I want a ride in that little boat of yours too bad to let you forget. And to show my appreciation, I'll even let you drive my boat at night so me and the wife can pickle our livers. :D
