My son and I just finished our new Baja Bug. It's sweet.. we are running a stock stroke 1914 with hipo heads and a kicked up cam. My question is this...how do we get a Green Sticker? We live in Huntington Beach Ca. Can we do this at the Auto Club? The lady we bouight it from said it was a salvaged vehicle. She gave us a bill of sale(we paid 100 bucks for it) but she didn't have a title.
This is our first off road vehicle. Please help.

AAA does not do green stickers, you will most likley have to take it to DMV.

Best and easiest way will be to go to the next amnesty day out in Glamis. They just had one last weekend, and I think the next one will be in march sometime. Check with the BLM website on the exact dates.

Call the Cali Highway Patrol. My dad and I built a new one from scratch years ago. I think we had them inspect it and gave us a document for DMV to issue a new title and sticker.

Good luck getting an appointment with CHP. I heard it's a four to 6 week wait.

I did go to the DMV and as you guys said I must first have a CHP inspection and then return to the DMV for the green sticker! Trouble is the CHP said I could not bring my vehicle in 'til Jan. 9, 2003!?!? eek! eek! So I went to Glamis any way ran the hell out of it, had a great time! Thamls everybody for your input.
