I read my owners manuals from cover to cover and pick up some good info.
But a few years back, my GM owners guide warned against using products like Armorall. Said it'll damage your stuff over the years.
Always held that thought, but use the stuff anyway.
Then, a similar product, 2001 in the green bottle, ran adds showing how their product works, and Armorall fails.
I use the stuff because it looks good, but have no clue if it really protects from the sun. Never kept anything that long.
What do you think? What experiences have you had?
Snake Oil??

Armorall SUCKS!!!!!!!!! I will not use that shit at all. It dries out anything it touches and sooner or later you will end up with a cracking dash or weather checked tires. I always use a silicon based wipe on such as Black Magic Wet! Just my opinion!

For those who thinks Armorall will dry out and crack anything it touches...here's my experience.
I've had my 81 Vette and 88 Ford Diesel since NEW. I've always used Armorall on the rubber trim, tires, dash etc. My stuff still looks like new, no fade or cracks...my friends can verify that. The only thing I never really used it on is Leather, well OK sometimes.

Most of the Armor All products now have sun screens that help protect from UV rays. Look at the bottles and it will tell you if it has the protections.

I highly recommend LRV from the Wax Shop.It will protect your leather, rubber and vinyl without leaving that film that a lot of them do.Actually,as far as the Wax Shop goes I highly recommend anything they make.Kinda spendy, but very high quality.

Anything but Armorall. I found the 303 aerospace protectant to be the best thing for me. I have tried the mothers, meguiars, nuvinyl, lots of different ones. I like 303 because it is like sunscreen, and it dresses it up without being oily.

Like I stated above, I've used Armorall almost forever...NEVER any of the side effects that some claim.
I have now been using the 303 product on my boats new interior...I like that stuff alot.

Damn cool avatar.
I did have the negative effects of armorall with my dash board on a truck I owned a long time ago. It cracked to hell after only six years and I used to armorall it every week. thought I was doing a good thing, man was I wrong. That is the why the OEMs warn you.
