I've got a 99 G/Cherokee. Anybody else have one or had any experience with them?

All Grand Cherokees are rated for max 6500 # , equipped [torsional equalizer bars included] with factory tow package. Here's mine http://www3.telus.net/spectrasonly/PB180022.jpg .Tows great :) ,but torsion bars required while towing on winding roads and downhill grades with boat/trailer packages over 5500#.Airbags help to firm the softer rides of the coil springed cherokees.

Backtanner- I had one, inline 6 4x4, put 42K on it, 1/6 miles very towing boats or motorcycles. Only problem was cracked exhaust manifold, replaced under warranty.

I've had my 99 G/Cher 4.7 for 4 months now. It had 22K when I got it. So far it's been back for a transfer case seal that went bad, pass door lock motor, and now the driver door lock motor is taking a nosedive. Got to say, so far not too impressed with Mopar reliability....but at least it's not a Ford!!

Had a`97 now own a `99 Jeep wrangler (sahara). Both had nothing but problems. Chrysler got the last of my money for life. Jeep products are great once you`ve replaced OEM parts with aftermarket.
Almost forgot, I purchased both new. `99 off the showroom floor and `97 had to order.

Backtanner ,I have only 47.000 KM [29.375 miles] on my GC ,and had to change all the pads with aftermarket ones already. As Hoss said ,some OEM parts are junk.No other issues yet.My tires are getting worn up front ,due to all wheel drive [even though the quadra drive suppose to transfer most of the power to the rear until it starts to slip :( ] .I had no prob with my 1990 LTD ,select drive aisian tranny = I've heard that's a toyota tranny wink ] when I sold it with over 200K :) .

Wow! I feel lucky now. Got rid of the 99 w/ 47K miles and bought a new 01 a couple of years ago and have had no problems yet. 30K miles great tire wear, rotated every 7500K, still look brand new. Jeep is all stock. Sorry you guys are having problems.
