My beast.....1988 2500. Dropped 5"/7" on 17" Colorado Custom Lazear 6 Wheels. Stripped and repainted in June 2001. Phantom Grill, smooth front bumper, roll pan with hidden hitch, shaved tailgate handle, and flowmaster 3" cat back dumped before the rear axle. Replaced the motor in '98 with an OEM 1-ton motor.
Now, my tranny is going out on me. :( But it is the last piece to the puzzle. wink

My '03 HD 1500 4x4, 6.0 engine w/ the 4:10 gears. Put the K&N FIPK kit in day one, doing a large stereo now, and a 10" lift with 38s in a month or two. I love this truck.

hey river life thinking of buying a truck like yours how much is it going to cost you to lift it and have you pulled anything with a lifted truck?

Sweet, you'll love it. I don't know what size boat you have, but mine is 22' and this truck pulls it like it's not even there. The 2500 is just overkill. I can hold 70mph up the Baker grade, easy, no engine shifting at all !! As far as the lift goes, yes I have towed with lifted trucks before, and they do just fine if properly geared. A friend of mine has this same truck with the 8" lift on 37s with the 4:10 gears, tows a 25' Eliminator just fine.
It should cost about $2,300 for the lift, then wheels and tires, driveline extension....... My buddy has a connection, so I'm trying to work that end also wink (I'm always up for saving money!!) but he said it should cost about $4500 out the door with no deal. I need to check on pricing myself, because that's just what he said.
Good luck on your purchase, and keep me posted on what your doing to it. I'll do the same.

I was planning on going to ALS in Temecula or Custom Motorsports in Riverside.
Just talked to my buddy with the lifted HD.
He bought a Whiplash kit (http://www.whiplashsuspensions.com) and loves it. $1899 for the 8", $1999 for the 10".
I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Havasu dreamin..yeah they are 20's, I installed air bags all around...Simple setup actually drop spindles and airbags up front,,and bridge type setup in back(removed one leaf).. lays frame with the dubs and pulls the boat really smooth... just lay it low and it rides like a caddy...

raskalYeah, it is recommended. They claim that the FabTech 6 for the HD keeps the stock driveline.
