on a 1500 4x4 gm truck, I read on here somewhere that GM makes a different torsionbar stop assem that allows increased adjustment. I called a few local dealers and they dont know of this....anybody know about this?

It is a torsion key that has a dfferent index on it.

I have put these on a few of my customer's trucks for them. Be prepared for a truck that rides like a dumptruck.

I think jordan knows of a place, he has them for his truck. I got mine through the dealer, although they had to special order them off a part number. I have them sitting in my shop as I haven't found the motivation to slap them in yet. They're here though and that's always the first step in any project right? :D :D : D

Buck why for do you say? because it will increase the spring rate. It is going to ride stiffer, how much I don't know.

Buck why for do you say? because it will increase the spring rate. It is going to ride stiffer, how much I don't know. bigg said it best...take a round piece of steel and twist it about halfway around. Now twist is some more. Do you think it will be easier to move back and forth at the first setting or the second one?
We crank torsion bars up all the time for customers with great success. Usually around 1-1.5 inches of gain in height. Most customers love the look and never complain about the ride. Some say they can't even tell any difference.
Drove a truck with the newer more adjustable torsion bar keyways on it. WOW!!! Rough.
Not saying you won't like it, just trying to help.
Let me know if you need any help with the install.
