I just purchased 2000 Durango with a 5.9. Does anyone have one? If so, do you like it as a tow vehicle.

I believe that "Froggystyle" has one with that engine. I know he has a durango- its bad ass too on 20's! I haven't heard of any complaints. Maybe he will give his input!

I got rid of my 2000 durango. The gas milage was
really bad. It was worse than my 454 Blazer.
The durango steered heavy. The brakes were not very good in a hard stop. Other than that I really
liked it.

I bought a 2000 DURANGO SLT...Looked at the R/T but tow rating wasn't up to snuff...I've got one with the tow package,3.90 rear gears and the 5.9/360 motor ...I haven't had ANY problems and the only negative thing I can say is that the gas mileage isn't very good(10ish city/16ish hiway)...I DID put the MOPAR "performance chip" and a K&N ram tube & filter in it...The thing HAULS ASS and tows VERY well(with 5800 lbs) behind it...I used to be a FORD diehard (had a BRONCO with a BUILT towing motor) & this thing is VERY close...& way more comfy...I give it a thumbs up...

Thanks for all yoour input. I will keep an eye on the possible problems that might occur.
Thanks again I still have a back up tow vehicle: 97 Ford one ton 4x4 460 Reg. cab but with 3 kids we just don't fit for the long trips

I had a 99 and loved it. I had to sell it when we bought a bigger boat though.

I agree with 24ROD on the POS thing. Maybe it's just the '99s? We sold ours two years and two radiators later. Bought a Burb (not a whole lot better) when the second kid fell from the sky.
