I have a supercrew 4X4 with the 5.4 and it pulls very good, almost as well as a diesel since I added the MagnaCharger. I do wish it would get over 15MPG though.

We also tow with a F-150 SuperCrew 4x4 ... How much additional HP do you think you now have with the MagnaCharger on the 5.4?

Talk about a POS!!!

And ifs its not to rude what can a guy expect to pay to have this done? I saw prices all over the place, Did you have it installed or did you do it yourself? How about fuel pumps and other mods that had to be done?????? very curious about doing this.....thanks

I have a Black 2001 F-150 Supercrew 4x4 Lariat with a 3.73 rear and Banks Stinger kit on the 5.4. I pulls like a champ but I wouldnt overload it with a 8000 lb boat. That will do in the springs. One of the things I like about it is that it does not ride that rough for a 4x4, and it still looks good..gas mileage isnt the greatest, but hey it is a truck with a V8 and if you get more than 15-17Mpg you are doing great..

I have a 2001 SuperCrew 4X4 with the 5.4. I just turned 60,000 miles with it and most of those miles were towing a boat. It towed my 19' Eliminator jet just fine. Now I have a 25' Carrera cat that weighs around 6,500 lbs. with the trailer and tanks half full of gas. It has to down shift to 2nd gear going up fairly decent hills but will still usually pulls those hills at 60 mph at around 3,800 rpm or so. It rides very nice for a truck. I too like the idea of a supercharger but I think the tranny is the weak link and don't know if it would handle the extra power. If I had it to do over again, I would buy the F-250 with the Powerstroke diesel to tow anything over 6,000 lbs. R/R

Nearly all of your questions on the MagnaCharger can be answered here on their site (http://www.magnacharger.com) it has everything as far as HP and torque gains, as well a complete set of instructions online. As for the cost you could probably get it done turn key for 4.5K. The install took close to 20 hours, but I bet the next one could be done in 8 or 10. The procharger setup would be cheaper and easier to install but it does not have the low end torque the MagnaCharger does. MC claims nearly 500 ft. lbs. of torque off idle, I don't know if it is that strong but it should be close. At half throttle it feels like it used to when it was on the floor. I used to drive Power Strokes but I love the size of the Screw and with the blower it runs very similar, now if I could figure out a way to get 20 MPG :D

There is also some good feedback on blowers for the 5.4 and 4.6 here on the F150 online website (http://www.f150online.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=1db75eba121575415eefc5bdefd7e6d 1&forumid=77)

I pull with a 93 chevy silveraldo ex cab. The boat is an 18 brendella so its not heavy no problems except that now that I have 209,000 miles it starting to slip on big hills. :( but with those miles I am happy.and I still get 16 miles to the gallon. :D

99 F-150 45,000 miles. Towed a 22ft Howard no problems. I had a fwe mods on it from f-150 online. JBA Headers, Power Pullies, Poweraid K&N Air Intake, lowered 3"in front and 4" in the rear, 20" rims and Goodyear EagleII's. I love my truck. But the real tow vehicle is the Excursion :D

It is very similar to the setup on the Lightning. If you do decide to do it be aware that you must run premium gas from then on. OH and please hold the Mr. that is only needed when my dads friends are around :D

if you are gonna pay 4500 for the supercharger get the transmission done with a performance rebuild the lightning doesn't use teh same transmission they use the transmission that comes behind the power stroke the transmission is always the weak link now days

I was given a price of $8k for a total (engine, tranny, etc.) Lighting install in our F-150 4x4 SuperCrew ... by a local Ford dealer.
That would give 360 HP, but, if MC is right about +60% over stock, that would yield 416HP for $4,500.00, plus new tranny or tranny mod.s. ?????
