Is it just me feeling this way??
It has nothing to do with the new update. It's kinda hard to explain I guess. Maybe it's because the site is so much larger then it used to be. I donno, just it seems to have lost it's home feeling.
BTW, I was happy to see the update. I was really starting to wonder if anyone even cared about this place at all.
Seems a little slower now, I don't know maybe it's on my end.
Yes I agree. I think i time it`ll be back to the same mud slinging as always.:D

SD, I can compare the new site to a new pair of underwear. Nice but still a little different feeling, once they get broken in, it like home again!

Well I can tell you that's not it. Like I said, it has nothing to do with the update.
And for the record, I could care less about what goes on at S&F. I'm not an outboard guy so what ever they do over there is their deal.

My thought is that the summer is winding down and everyone is thinking about the holidays. This can cause a let down while making the transition.

Actually...I felt the same way after the last update....but it eventually grew to be home, again. I guess it's kinda like moving to a new house....doesn't feel like home right away.
I do miss the "old days" when everyone knew each other, and we could joke around as much as we wanted. We also stuck together (and didn't let hormones cloud our judgement)...
But, Seadog is right...winter is only a couple months away. Spring Break is around the corner!

I too feel somewhat alienated SD. I don't think it has anything to do with updates, number of people postin', or the such. I haven't had a comfortable feelin' in these parts in quite some time. I gotta agree with RD and Froggy; the "vibe" just ain't the same! Talkin' to some peops at the upper sandbar last Sunday and the feelin' seems to be the same! Could you imagine the brouhaha now if we posted some of the irreverant crap that we did a few years ago?.....and yet as irreverant and crass as we were, there was less bickerin' and snivelin' than there is now! Oh well, all things must change! Still dig bein' around most of the peops that frequent these boards!:)

It better be on your end. There is almost no way that a SQL/PHP driven board could be slower than a non database driven CGI board. Our server load just went down by about 50%.

Things just haven't been the same since they banned the T&A. In some ways it is like marriage. You get to a point when there is little to talk about. In the case of the boards, there is little new controversy available. The recall is over and most of what is in the news is old hat and usually a poor reflection on society, but not controversial. I may have to bad mouth Rush Limbaugh, just to give Cat and A$$Don a heart attack and to start an argument.

I cant quite put one single word on it but it does seem a bit off.More of a square edge,commercialistic,plain jane,dull,dictatorship,run of the ordinary,non-homely,cold,complicated,do as I say,kind of place.Not the old, warm,easy to hang out place.Same great people and the A-holes too but something is just not the same.Boring maybe,I dunno! :rolleyes:
