Did you see the rules:eek:
The engine maximum CID 470, 92 octane gas, Mufflers Most parts must be commercially available or in a stock configuration.

"commercially available in a stock configuration."
This concerns me because while Kaase heads are commercially available, it is known that he did extensive additional rework to the ones on his engine. But they are never-the-less still commercially available heads. And hey, everybody else ported their heads too! So this was acceptable by the guidelines...

Words from John Kaase:
"Yesterday I tore down the engine for the Primedia guys to check legality and take pictures. I went way out of my way to make sure they would have enough for a good article. We documented every square inch of this engine. Took a rod and piston out, cam out, main caps off, oil pump apart, head apart, flowed one intake and exhaust, carb off the intake and took pictures of every single piece from all angles. I didn't hide anything from their camera so they should get a real good story from this. Thanks to everyone here that was behind us! --- Kaase"
WaHoo! BBF on TOP!

The rules said that you can do port work, etc. but not move valves & rockers around.
