USC will be #2 in BCS

All the things that needed to happen happened and USC is now #2 in the nation and #2 in the BCS and very little will change if they play well. I might need to look for some flights to New Orlenes for January.
I know all of the other SC fans on this board are pumped as well. I can't wait for the trojans to pound the shit out of the Bruins!!!

D IA football rankings are a joke and the paper title they give out is meaningless. The games are interesting and the conferance championships are earned, so they mean something. But the "national title" is a farce and I don't waste time worring about it.:rolleyes: If SC and OU get to play at the end of the season it will be nothing more than a great match up between to very good teams. It in no way will be a true national title like they have in all other college sports.

BCS ranking should be out at about 3:00pm our time. Based on the average ranking in the polls and beating a top 10 team this past weekend should be enough for us to leapfrog Florida State to get the #2 slot.

I hope SC moves past FSU, but it will be tough as BCS goes...SC was ranked 3 last week in both polls while FSU was 5...this week both are 2 and 3 respectively so from that standpoint FSU picked up a point...SC needs the judges help and Miami strength number to go down...

Honestly, if you dont mind living in the desert then UNLV is awesome. Very cheap (compared to other schools) and a good education with lots of options. But, a weak willed person can be easily drawn to the dark side.
Auburn was very home town, country like, but it is still the south which is very SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. Unbelievable how ignorant soutnerners are on average. Not all, but a great deal. Football is absolutely amazing. Over 300k people would come to Auburn for home games when the stadium would hold 90K.

I'm not much of a true "fan" of any teams. And the teams I follow generally are teams that I have had some sort of association with (or at least a friend or relative who played for them). The only exception is the Lakers I've never known any Lakers, I just grew up watching them. Although my son knows Derrick Fisher.:cool:

Why is it that USC is hated so much? I don't know of a school or University that evokes such trash talking from its competition than USC. Come on there are very few institutions that have had such overall success in all sports like football, baseball, mens track, womens track, volleyball and individual competition like the Olympics such as USC. I went there (however didnt graduate), my lil brother graduated in 1980, my eldest son went there, my niece recently graduated from there, and my nephew goes there now.
My son went on an academic full ride and the rest of my family went there because my family worked their asses off to get them there and to help graduate from there. Most of the student families I have met there r like us. Hard working folks that wanted a private institution to educate are kids. Not spoiled brats...just working families that wanted the best for their kids.
And proud we are! The Marshall school of business grads at Sc have the highest 1st year salaries than any and all business grads in the country 3rd only to Harvard and University Of pennselvania Warton School of Business! Donald Trumps alma mater. Not bad company eh. The USC film school has more academy award winners as graduates than anyother film school in the world by four times the competition! You mat have heard of Gerge Lucas to start with.
Next to Harvard the USC business school has placed more CEOS of Fortune 500 companies than anyother University in the world in the last 15 years according to the wall street journal. Also in the case of Olympic medal production SC grads if they were a country would be 8th in world with Gold Medals, Silver Medals and Bronze Medals in the last 25 years.
The list goes on and on. Thats the reason that USC is so hated. It is rhe Universties commitment to excellence that makes people jeolous. Sure things go in cycles. We had a big dry spell in football for a while but now we are on track to compete for a national championship. Why shouldn't we be proud and ou team has earned the right for all of us Trojans to brag. If the University that you love had accomplished as much as trojans do every single day year in and year out in all facits of life you would brag also.

My step son's cousin is an offensive cooridinator for Co Buffs. He claims that the USC defense is underated and that USC's weakness is the secondary. However he also said that with what he calls the best past rushers in the nation the secondary is more than good enough to play with anybody.
Ok deserves to be where they are and so do the Trojans. I can bet you if they play in the Sugar Bowl the OK coaching staff will not be acting like " oh we can kick these guys asses." They will be telling their kids this IS the most skilled and hardest hitting team us Sooners have played this year, and it will take our best game to beat the Trojans. Stoops would rather play anybody else for the championship other than USC if the truth be known! And visa versa with Carroll. It will be one hell of a game.

I can tell you first hand because we know so many of this years players as my son either played with or against them in high school. The Trojans DO NOT FEAR ANY TEAM BEFORE THEM AT ALL! With two sophmores on the Heisman watch and already notified from the heisman committee officially this week with leters( Linart and Williams) Norm Chow who has some real credabili....says this the most explosive offensive he has ever coached! The loss to Cal was no more than a reminder to Pete Carroll and his staff to never take college teams for granted. They aren't pros yet and need constant reminders and preparedness to win every week. Against Cal USC demonstrated you probably will play the way you practice that week.
As I said earlier all you loser rooters are wishing your team was where USC and OK are now and for us Trojans going to the Sugar Bowl is the goal and if we make it we will be proud to play such a deserving opponent as the Sooners. But make no mistake we do not fear the Sooners one bit. In fact "we would be willing to settle this game one on one with Sooners any time any where ....bring it on" Qoute Mike Patterson USC Trojans.
