Perfect Keys cruiser. Hey RD when you pull up to the dock at Road Runner in that bad boy you will get all the chicks wanting rides. What would be even sweeter would be if you could bolt a 2.5 on the back of that thing.

But I did manage to snap two quick pics off.
Here's the latest, you can still see the non skid up front is red, it will be white.

HavasuBarney
11-19-2003, 09:17 AM
My question is whether you might like to have these non skid pads as a contrasting color or make them white as in my original plan... ?
If you want a contrast, I was thinking black or red.

Dave, I seen one of these at Silverwood a while back. A guy and his girlfriend won it on the Price is Right. They treated that thing worse than a SeaDoo. It seemed practically unsinkable!!! 360's, chasing wakes, jumpin wakes, nose divin into the water. They were having a freakin blast!

Then after some clean up, you can see those growths on the left side, old repairs made from the outside only that would not have lasted. I'll have to grind those down smooth and lay new glass throughout the area.

Hey, that look just means that you need to buy some new floats. Because the ones that he sold to you that didn't come in that made it back into your "new" carb that doesn't run don't count. Buy some "new, new" floats that you paid for a couple of times. Practice makes perfect, right Ty? Maybe not.

Well at the end of the day I'm stoked with what I got from TPC..
I don't want to get into some deal where by which we're arguing about TPC becuase realistically the thread isn't about TPC, it's about Bubbles. The carb is just a small part of it.

How do you "tune" a carbuerator for a 2 stroke outboard? How do you know if it's running lean or fat etc and dial it in?

But if that motor is stock, and the carb remains stock (which I hope it did), you won't have much to tune. Only thing you will really have to mess with is the idle, and if it was set to factory specs, you shouldn't even have to mess with that......

Jordy
07-23-2004, 09:00 AM
It's all about reading the plugs with the 2 strokes... and you'll be able to tell performance wise if it's running really fat as it will fall on it's face. Better to be on the fat side than too lean though. ;) :D

Yeah the Carb remained stock.. just made it look better. :) I just told him to rip it apart and make it look bitchen then give it back with no other real specific instructions, so I'm not sure if all the mixture screws are back to exactly where they were before etc..
I'll hit Ty up about that and see if he put them back exactly.. He probably did. If not I'll find out when I goto start it right? :D

Well, if he is a prudent carb rebuilder, COUGH COUGH, then he would have documented every screw setting and reassembled the exact same way.....assuming he did not have access to the manufacturer's specifications.

BadBlown572 just picked it up from Stitch Craft this morning and it's on it's way over to TRG fiberglass right now. :)
Over at TRG all the white Non skid on the top is getting regelled, and he's also painting on the Race #'s and the name, then it's coming back down here.
I'm trying to reassemble the motor right now, and am currently waiting on a couple of parts, I'll get those at the beginning of next week and then I'll have the motor back together minus some of the stock bracketry on the front.
Boat comes back here early next week @ some point so that we can mount the jack plate / power trim bracket. We then have to make the motor / steering brackets to attach the motor to it..
Other then that, pretty much just rig the entire boat in a matter of days, drop it in some local lake to see if it works, then back to TRG so that they can paint the motor to match the hull and hopefully I'll have the AZ #'s by then so I can have those painted on as well etc..
Then it's off to the CBBB.. After the CBBB the boat comes back to California to fix a couple of things that need to be redone becuase we were rushed for time and so I can put the Cav Plates on it, then it's off to Richard's Toy Barn where hopefully it'll live a happy life in Parker.. LOL

Revo the owner of stitch craft wants to dial it in a little more and change a couple of things so the boat will be going back to them after the CBBB.
