View Full Version : Going From A 330 Hp To 600

I have a 82 laveycraft supercruiser with a mercruiser 330 hp trs outdrive with 23 pitch i am geting about 62 mph at 4900 rpm
the new motor is going to be 600 hp about what speed can i expect out of it i know i am going to need a bigger prop just looking to get some ideas thanks

Eric, That avatar is scary! I would guess you should check out how much hull you had in the water before then fiqure the new motor will lift it more,air out.The type of hull
will affect trim + prop needs, change
will be needed with the new power.Try to find somebody on the boards that has something similar, and see what they recommend. I am going to guess a 5 mph gain with nothing else changed, minimum.I know this does not sound like much but when you start dialing it in the changes improve dramatically.

600 horse??? How are getting that? Are you also upgrading other parts of fuel system & exhaust sytem to handle that HP? You will need to prop up & need to find out if the TRS drive will handle that HP.
