It makes me sick to see this, FYI insurance cut him a check on the damage.

Does that say "Frosty Cat" or "Party Cat" on the side of the boat? Does anyone know this person? How SAD!!! :frown:
I would have hooked that bad boy up to the beamer and giv'en it a whirl with rope, chain or whatever, unless he was looking to get a new boat via insurance????

Did that boat belong to someone from the boards? Hope insurance was fair on the damage. That sucks!!!

BB572,
A fellow boater sent this e-mail to me, it was his friend.
I'm not sure if he is on the boards, but the gel coat looks familar.

Smart ASS would be the word. But NOT trying step on ony toes or ruffle any feathers.
If it were my boat I'd of made sure the Insurance got charged for some of the Depreication that I'm sure they figured.
I used to work in Insurance. So I know first hand how they will screw the owner out of any amount of money they can. I would be surprised if they gave him anywhere near what the boat was worth. So a few Extras on the ride never hurts.
Sorry If I offended anyone.

They way you posted it I sounded like you know the owner.
As far as what he got, It's not our business and yes the worst fire disaster in California history should be treated with respect to all who lost life's and or their property.
It's ok to joke around but, lets show some respect around here on these sensitive situations.

When I was at the Cedar Fire in Poway, I saw a 20' Eliminator with a beautifull blown motor. I jokingly told the guy that if he let that thing burn, I would kick his ass!! He hooked up, and trailered it away. We saved his house (a little scorched on the garage side), but if the boat would have been there, it definately would have been damaged.. Does anyone know if this guy is on the boards? It was a 20' closed bow light/dark blue Eliminator.
Thanks, Rick

It's sad to see that thing burn...but why are the trees not burned around it in the after PIC....maybe the guy torched it himself so he could get a new one....the trees still standing just made me wonder....A burned boat with good insurance from natural causes gets a new boat:D

Wow. That's real sad he lost his boat. Good thing he didn't loose his house or family at that. I myself was hitching the boat up, grabbing the hard-drives, files, and last but not least the cats and my girl.
Now back to the boat, maybe he can get into a Trident Boat now that the advantage has made some room.:D
