I have a 2102 VIP Victory w/350 Mag MPI 300HP. I am going to try a labbed 23p Mirage from Houston Prop. I was also thinking of trying a High 5. If I ran 5000RPM (where my RPM is supposed to be) with the Mirage, what pitch would I need in a High 5, and why? I'm not real familiar with 4 and 5 blade props and there benefits and downfalls....Thanks. J.

I just heard on offshore that 4 and 5 blade props are very hard on Alpha drives. Is this true? Maybe I should stick with a Mirage or a Laser II.

The high5 is really just a ski wheel. If your looking for holeshot and good skiing, the High 5 is good. Otherwise the Mirage Plus will be much better on the top end

We were looking into this on my sons boat and heard some people have had luck with turning down the diameter of the prop and getting an Alpha to live with a 4 blade.

try a merc revolution4. these are known to realy wake up some boats. these props really have good bite so you may wanna step down to a 21"pitch in the REV4. the mid range and handling with these are kick ass
:D

Justin,
The High-Five is the ultimate ski prop. I ran a 21" on a 350mag/ Alpha combo for five years with excellant results - that is as far as skiing and wakeboarding are concerned. This prop is designed to quickly lift the stern of your boat and get you up onto a plane. Because it is a five blade it has poor mid range and top end.
Props are always a compromise...
