Anybody have suggestions for fuel pump GPH or PPH.
Will be running a 468 7.5 to 1 / 871 with (2) 850's 12.5 % underdriven 5-7 lbs. boost
( trying to keep it on pump gas )
Am going to use a bypass system, but dont really how much pump i need.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks 396, would like to run a mechanical, but alt. mounting and even offset in the rear seat makes it difficult. Against better judgement will run a
elec. but will use a higher end pump.

Look into the SX fuel pump. Coast Guard approved too. http://www.maxpsiracing.com/sxpumps.html

Yep Clay Smith or equilivant and a bypass can't beat it, worth while making the room for it!..

I run a Holley Blue with a BG bypass regulator. 878 HP w/2 750 DP Holleys, no problem with fuel pressure.

Running a Mallory Marine electric. No room for mech. either.
Just make sure to run a BYPASS regulator :crossx:

Thanks guys, decided to modify things and make room for Clay Smith
and bypass system, just for info found fuel logs for blower set ups
at BDS ( blowerdriveservice.com ) they come with a spring and pill
check valve, but can switch to a diaphragm bypass.

Anyone using the Clay Smith mechanical pump with a dead head regulator?
If so, which regulator are you using?
I have a Pro Systems regulator and it doesn't work correctly with the mechanical pump. When I spoke with Patrick at Pro Systems, he said that the regulator is for an electric fuel pump with much higher pressure.

Quickfuel has a mechanical plunger style pump that should work great and be a neat install. 240 gph @ 60 unregulated psi.

You're running that engine on a single Holley Blue? You are either real brave or real stupid, but since I don't know you I'll have to say it must be bravery;). Wow, it can maintain 6-7 psi at WOT for how long?

I'm curious, whats the hype about mech pumps... I've always had electric in my boat.. One thing i've always liked about electric... i can pull the fuel line, turn the key on and clear fuel out of the lines, fill a gas can, drain the tanks if i wanted to, etc...

Bypass reg for a Mallory 140? Or what size pump . 565" Ford 855HP at 6,600 It made 802 at 6000 pulled a Legend A2 impeller to 5,800. Ran dual Mallory 140's. One for each tank with 3 way switch, left, right or both. Single pump 7psi at idel 6 psi at 5,800. Ran a billet Holley Reg. no bypass -8 line in 2 -8 lines out.

I run a Mallory 110 Marine pump, the manual says it doesnt require a regulator, pressure stays right at the factory set 7 PSI with out a problem so far... Course i'm not running a blown deal, i'm using it to feed two 4150 (660's) carbs sitting on my mild built 467...

I'm running 2-1050's on 8/71 /454 anywheres from 8 - 18#boost with an electric Mallory 250 #12 suction lines to pump from tanks - # 12 to Reg/fuel log then 4 #8's to carb bowls. I am seriuosly leaning towards the quickfuel mechanical pump to get away from the fuel switch wires etc..and it will tidy up my already cramped engine area as I want to add an oil cooler and remote filter mount where I have the electric pump now.

Luvinlife ,
I was checking this out as a buddy of mine has one on his CP Gullwing.
496 8/71 and 2-850's turning around 6500rpms. when we flushed the lines after installing and priming that thing really moves some fuel ! He loves it as he did away with his electrics & pump.
Like you asked , hopefully more will chime in on this with more good reviews ?
