I couldn't find that other thread about movies that made a life long impression on you, didn't look too hard, so here's another.
When the first one was posted, I really couldn't think of a movie that really bothered me until it was advertised again the other day. When I saw the commercial, I remembered how much I hated those damned flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz.....they scared the crap out of me when I was 7. I also hated that mean ole wizard, especially when all that fire appeared.
I still hate flying monkeys with those big ole wings.

The Birds scared me also but it was because we saw it at a theater in Guernevillewhich wasn't all that far from where they filmed it. In watching the movie, I knew I had been to that town, knew it was close and just knew those birds were on their way to get us.
I laughed through most of the Exorcist, mainly because there was a guy sitting right behind me that was snoring up a storm. Also because every time something scarey would happen, the whole crowd would jump at the exact same time......almost looked choreographed :D
It also changed the way I watched movies, always knew "it's just a movie"

Couldn't sleep in the dark for days after seeing The Blob with Steve McQueen. My uncle loved to take us to the drive-in to watch vampire movies and I would lay down behind the seat after awhile. Then as a teen, a couple of my buddies and I went to see Night of the Living Dead. I had to wait until they got into the house and the lights on before I could drive off.
