Since it's halftime of THE game and my Bruins are, well, lickin' their wounds; let me ask a question.
Am I the only one here who thinks that BCS stands for BLOWS CHUNKS SUPREME ?
Geezus I hate this BCS crap system! Playin' the "Championship" game at a rotatin' venue between the Rose, Sugar, Orange, and Fiesta Bowls sux! I remember watchin' the Miami(FLA)/ Nebraska Rose Bowl a few years ago and feelin' like I was watchin' a peep show with the girlies dressed in armor! Could see alot but just didn't seem the same! I would like to see "them" go back to the old format, the NFL to go back to the "off" Sunday between the League Championships and the Super Bowl, and the #1 and #2 college teams after the "Bowl" season play for the national championship at revolvin' venues then. I really miss the old rivalries that were built through the years of "Bowl" competition! Is that a dumb idea or what?.....and don't give me the BS about "college is not about athletix; it's about education! I know that already but "my" idea would only add 2-3 weeks of season to two colleges and, IMO, be a more "pure" championship. :)

BCS is crap....there should be a playoff...however rankings and losses should still play into it somehow...I would hate to see the first couple of weeks where no one cares about wins/losses until they get to the conference games..

Yes the BCS is B.S>
mbrown, the ranking in the bcs does not start until about the 5th week of the college football season.
IMO what screws it up is an east coast bias. Most of the people involved in the polls whether it is the USAToday/ESPN, or the AP poll or any of the others are based on the east coast and usually dont see the west coast games they only see stats and highlites so they rank the teams they know higher.
This means their will me more teams in the east and mid-west ranked and fewer west coast teams ranked. That sets up the Bias in the strength of schedule.

I am aware of that, but the computers when they do start in the 5th week are looking at the first 5 games as well.

I stand corrected.
I'm not here to defend the BSC because I think their is a HUGE Bias for East and Mid-West teams and the BCS sucks.
The only thing I do like is by starting the rankings 5 weeks in there is a won / loss record to look at. Not just arbitrary ranking
