I have been battered for saying that people thet put things on Ebay, and then refuse to ship anywhere are morons, who don't wanna get a good price for their items.
Here is the proof, i would gladly have payed a lot more for this engine then the dude got. if the dude( German) of course!!! would have strapped it on to a Europallet and made the phonecall to the freight-service, on my expense, of course.
Now the moron got what seems to be around 50 bucks for it.
I do not know what the price on it would be in the states, but i know that this has got to be a steal.

Yes i have a motor, i have several, actually, a dodge 440, a pontiac 301, and a BMW 3,5 inline six.
And a chevy 350, but it's sitting in the -76 chevy pickup i bought as a project, better leave it there.
But as you state yourself it would be easier to find parts for a motor that has been subject to more interest that a 301 ( and more fun)
And i am the sort of dude that buys things if i want them, and if i could put them to use later in my life, like the classic Danish build mopeds that i have 4 of, when i reach my retirement age, no one of these things will be lying on the corners nomore, you know.
And of course not all Germans are Morons, sorry about that, and my grandma got cremated, if i think closely enough, just needed to get my air here, so **** it.

How about checking this out to see if this is a viable option.
1st of all get one of the internet phone connections. This way you can call over here to the USA, this way no big phone bill.
2nd, start calling the speed companies like JEGS, or Summit, or shit just go to there web sites, see if the will be willing to ship international for you. I know both UPS, & FedEx ship international.
This way you get the good american stuff you want anyways, & you dont have to rely on thos F*cking germans anymore & there bullshit excuses!
I know it's not the same as getting a deal on E-Bay, but as we say here in america, going fast costs big bucks!

I hate to say seeing how your actually considering an Olds but from where your at, I would suggest a Big Block Shivvy also. Those 403's are very cool indeed with that 4.35" bore although I would sink that 301 Pontiac. It is doomed for making any real power. I don't know what your selection for machinists are over there but you may want to think about the Chevy for actually getting to do more boating rather than blowing up your mill every time you get on the water. Again I feel odd for saying it but at least with the chevy engine you'll be able to dam near buy anything you need to go as fast as you need. You won't ever be satisfied I'm sure and will always be looking to go faster

In the long run you'll be happier due to not having a local performance connection to some of these specialty engines like the Olds or that PUKE 301!!!:D
