BGMAN - That red flat (Kyle Cannon) is by bro-in-law.
Can't believe that thing landed flat and didn't crash!
Later found out that the stringer was broken and it was distorting the bottom of the boat at the top end. He tried to jump out, but couldn't get clear.

I was actually at that race, I couldn't belive his ass stayed in either. To my knowledge that boat has since been retired due to the damage....did you hear the same?

No the boat is running agian with the stringer replaced and running the same motor with no issues at all. although it does have a new owner.:)

I was there, too. Boat looked perfect (actually a little tight in the lights) and then real ugly, real quick! I thought it might be rollers from the boats they had tied up in the dock area by the finish line. Someone came over and said the driver said he wasn't going to drive it anymore. Glad to see they found a problem with the boat.
I couldn't believe he was trying to bail out of the boat. But he sure was.

Me and my dad were actually visiting some family friends up in Washington earlier in that week, so we made an effort to be at the races that weekend. We had gone up there the year before that (might of been 2 years before) to buy a motor from a PE racer and really liked the lake when we were there. So we kinda planned that into our trip.

You are correct I'm pretty sure. It was during the football strike and those photos went out on the UPN news wire for all the sports starved people.
I don't know who the drivers are. If no one knows in the next few days I'll call Rick to find out.

I was refering to boat 545 with the unknown driver - that is why I said it would be interesting to see the photo's prior to his bail out as the boat is running flat - or it was an alcohol fire.
The red boat is easy to see why was trying to bail:eek:
