View Full Version : What do you have to be thankful for?

It's time when everyone should reflect on what it is they have to be thankful for.
For me it's simple. I can walk. I can ride my horse. I can even waterski.
Earlier this year when I shattered my leg into about 14 pieces, I wasn't so sure that I would ever be able to do those things again.
I'm thankful that I have a great wife who took care of me (pissed off that she was).
We have our health and our family. Everything else is just icing on the cake.
:)

Everything, that everyone else takes for grantite.
as stated above , walk, eat, talk, use the head with no help or machine assistance.
The boats, cars and fun stuff are all secondary.

I'll be thankful if the Cowboys win on Thursday!:p :D
I am also thankful for the Master/Slave device that I have on both of my Hard Drives! LOL
Honestly, I give thanks for the air I breathe, the eyes that let me gaze upon my wife and daughter each morning and night, the opportunites America affords us, the fortune of good health, and the passerby's who become acquaintances which lead to friendships.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING. Don't burn the Turkey! http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0903/ernaehrung/food-smiley-016.gif http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0903/party/party-smiley-045.gif

Be Thankful
Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary,
because it means you've made a difference.
It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings.
Things for Which to be Thankful
Trains, cars, airplanes, horses and buggies that allow us to travel great distances to share Thanksgiving with our loved ones.
The spouse who complains when dinner is not on time, because s/he is home with me, not with someone else.
The teenager who is complaining about doing dishes, because that means she is at home & not on the streets.
The mess to clean after a party because it means I have been surrounded by friends.
The taxes I pay because it means that I'm employed.
The clothes that fit a little too snug because it means I have enough to eat.
My shadow who watches me work because it means I am out in the sunshine.
A lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing because it means I have a home.
All the complaining I hear about our government because it means we have freedom of speech.
The space I find at the far end of the parking lot because it means I am capable of walking.
My huge heating bill because it means I am warm.
The lady behind me in church who sings off key because it means that I can hear.
The piles of laundry and ironing because it means I have clothes to wear.
Weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day because it means I have been productive.
The alarm that goes off in the early morning hours because it means that I'm alive.
Getting too much email bogs me down but at least I know I have friends who are thinking of me.

It has already been said but.... We all have nice toys and things like that but there are those times when we have reality checks. I'm just thankful for the things we take for granted.

Outstanding replies! Everyone of them.
I'm very grateful for my kids and a wonderful lady named Nancy
who puts up with me.
I'm grateful that I had parents who cared and loved me enough
to teach me right from wrong.
I'm grateful for so many things, but today I'm grateful that my
stepson and so many others like him in the middle east are
watching our backs. And I'm grateful that God is watching theirs.
