i just recently picked up my headers from embee coatings in santa ana, and had seen a pair of cast iron heads that had the ceramic coating (aluminum) on them, they looked great, but the reason for the post is ,...have any of you seen a block coated this way? i just figure that if headers are ceramic coated for lack of heat retention, would this be done on a block?
Ive seen people paint their blocks with paint! and ceramic coating is essentially painted on, baked ,and then polished as well what do you think? todd,

The picture in the lower corner of the Caps add that says entire engine coated is of my 32 roadster . It was done 5 years ago and still looks great . Then engine runs cool and there have never been any issues with it being coated . Me and my wife are members of the Los Angeles Roadsters and we drive it regularly, as this is written the exhaust for the roadster is at Caps getting a recoat . I wouldnt have anybody but Capps do ceramic coating just my 0.2 Mitch ;)

Here is a photo of the engine that I built for Haulina29's 32 Ford Roadster. His car is awesome, he has won many trophies with it, as well as logging many miles of driving to events.
As you can see, the block looks very similar to the polished aluminum heads. The HPC coating is tumble polished after it is baked on. It's not real cheap, because they grind and polish the block before applying the coating, but the result is really nice.

The body is a Wescott on a So Cal speed shop chassis , C&E drilled front axel and a Halibrand V8 quick change . The hood and roll pan were done out of aluminum by Jack Hagerman . Sid Chavers did the top and upholstery . The chassis was the proto type for the qc rear end for So Cal . it was built by Jim Jacobs and P Wood when Pete Chapouris came down the hill and changed names from PC3G to So cal Speed shop . Blown have you ever been to the LA Roadsters fathersday show in Pomona ? , if you go this year look me up I will be at the rear middle gate . Mitch :)

Haulina29, your roadster is beautiful!!
I know we're getting off topic here, but......Is anyone else from NorCal, and more specifically the Bay Area, as pissed off as I am about Dan Cyr moving the Grand National Roadster Show(aka the Oakland Roadster Show) to POMONA in 2004? Talk about screwing with tradition.

OS thank you , Being a Bay area resident myself i was disapointed to see the grand daddy leave the Bay area . I was actually shocked when I heard the news . In 2002 my roadster got 2nd place in the 28-32 roadster division , to place at Oakland was a honor . This year the car will be in Pomona as a display only vehicle in the La Roadsters display . I am looking forward to going and seeing everybody but it wont be the same . The Grand National is a Nor Cal thing hopefully it and the tradition will return Mitch

haulina, yes i have been, but unfortunatley i sold mine earlier this year, it was an all steel full fendered 32, it had a one of a kind retractable top, 302 boss , polished weber induction, all the goodies, it was built by a guy named don raible in the early eighties, but unfortunaltey, i needed to buy a house so had to let her go.. yo say your in norcal?, alot of guys would stop across the street from my shop, at a place called freedom street rods,in atascadero , on there way to l.a.,have you ever stopped there?
