Just remember every company is different
It may be dsl or cable, But if there stuff is not up it will only be slightly faster than dial up.....

Cable is by far faster. it is usually about 45 to 55 bucks a month. Verizon and SBC are having $26 DSL specials right now. Biggest disadvantage with DSL is that speed is largely dependent on your distance from the telco central office. Farther away you are, slower the service. It starts out slower than cable, but it is still fairly fast.

Biggest problem with cable is the three ******** kids next door saturating the line downloading slim shady and 5 cents or whatever his ****ing name is.
PPPoE DSL not as good but that is what most is now. Once had a bridged connection that had good ping times.
If you get PPPoE DSL, immediately dump their disk/software and find some PPPoE software on the internet that is faster.
