Does this mean Nick got a new Conquest?

Nick doesn't have a new Conquest yet, but as soon as this sells he will have one on the way as long as it fits in the garage. Any takers? Nick

Guys, as long as I still own the Howard, our little summer party is still a go. I went for a ride in a Conquest a few weeks ago and it was really nice. The reality is I have a new baby and the thought of a fruit punch stain in my 120,000.00 Howard Cat made me want to vommit! I like the idea of a 100mph, fiberglass floor boat that I can clean with a hose or a bucket of water that still looks bitchen. The Howard idea is not sunk yet, and I am not even sure if the Conquest will fit in my garage? Friday will be the day we try. No fit, no buy, back to Howard with new ideas about the floor. My garage is 32' 6" from interior wall to interior door. The guy at Conquest swears it will fit, but only a true test will tell. Both boats are truely awesome, but let's face it, I'm on the fence. More after the light parade. Anyone who is interested in the Howard, I will be in Havasu Dec. 5, 6, 7, 8 for the light parade. Just pm me and I can make any arrangements necessary since the boat is still at my house. Nick

Hey Nick, I have a friend with a 28' Magic deckboat. It should be the same length as the Conquest. He had the same concerns as you before he bought it. If you want me to call him today and ask him the length of the boat on the trailer let me know, he is on duty today. I'm pretty sure his garage is around 32', and it fits in straight. Let me know,
Rick

Thanks Rick. I am going to have to move a buch of stuff because 1 side of my garage is deeper than the other. I have a work bench and shelves and crap on the deep side. I would like to know if your friend has to use his detachable tongue every time or if it fits in without doing that and if he has to adjust the trim to make it fit? Let me know. Nick

Nick, I will give him a call and let you know. Please do me a favor and mess that garage up a little. It looks way to clean and organized. I don't want my wife to see that!!

Nick, just talked to the owner of the 28' Magic deckboat. He says it measures 33' on the trailer. His trailer does not have a folding or removeable tongue. He has a 36' deep garage, and he puts it in without trimming the outdrive, and there is a dresser behind it. His bet is, that with a folding or removable tongue, you would be able to fit it in your garage but it would be tight. I know I didn't answer your questions, but hopefully you have a better idea now whether it will fit or not.

Hey Nick, Talk to GT about the textured fiberglass floor in his new 25 Bullet. It'll have removeable carpet as well. Sounds like this floor texture is pretty cool.
Conquest is a NICE boat! The people at Conquest and their top flight customer service makes it my favorite deckboat. I met a Conquest owner in the Nautical bay Saturday...he had a Whippled (10lb boost) HP500 in it. He was changing the prop to a lab 32 hoping to get 95mph.

SDLifesaver
11-30-2003, 06:42 PM
That is the motor package we are looking at. Everything but the whipple because the warranty for a year. Whipple after the warranty. 95 would be really nice in a big boat like that. Only time will tell.

It is a tough choice Tony. We looked for months before we ordered the Howard and it is turning into the same thing again. This purchase is alot more money, so I want to make sure we pick exactly what we want. No maybe's, no we should haves, no regrets at all because we will be stuck for a while. We will be there on Friday, come by and check out the landscaping we did. Nick

If I were to buy a deckboat, Conquest would be the one. I had the pleasure to ride on one last summer, and it was awesome. The ultimate family performance boat. I was reading through back issues of Hot Boat magazine, and they only have good things to say about that boat.

Nick,
We can always try mine on the weekend. It would probably be easier to just measure my garage, since it only fits by 2 inches.
You don't have to account for the drive because it sits so high on the trailer, you can leave it all the way down. I guess that ride a couple weeks ago changed your mind.
See you Friday

Yeah Brett it opened my eyes. Actually it was the day on your boat. The deck boats of plenty of room for our wifes to pass out and we still have a place to party. I am off to work. I will see you guys on Friday. Nick

Hey SD, may I suggest you call Gene at Howard. He may know of an interested buyer. He has people calling him all of the time for used boats, especially in the price range your selling for. Since you're not upgrading to a larger Howard, you may want to offer him a commission...just an idea.

That's a good idea. I guess Keith or Mike from Conquest already called him to put the word out. We put the Conquest in our garage to make sure it would fit and it does, so all we have to do is sell this boat. Thanks for the input. If we do not sell the boat we will still do the regatta stuff for this summer.

The boat is officially in the Boat Trader and has way to many options to list. Some of the most recent stuff is new batteries and boxes and Havasu Barney has already been over to scope out the boat for a new owner polish. Awesome boat that needs a home. Nick

Our boat is still for sale. The hours are now 126 as we found out our hour meter was skipping hours because of stripped gears. We had the computer checked and the actual hours were 124.2 last week so I will just round up a bit. The price now is 38,500 or very best offer and the condition of the boat has not changed a bit. Thanks for looking. Nick, 619-654-3012

I'm shocked that noone has bought this boat. For $38,500 you can hardly
buy anything new that's 21' and open bow even with a small block. With the
Howard quality (worth alot!) and a big block and the "new" condition of this
boat, how could someone pass it up to buy a new???????. i don't get it.
Good luck Nick. If someone sees it in person, it'll go. For those not understanding the difference between this 21' Howard and the "other"
21' boats out there, one 5 minute ride will explain it all.

SDLifesaver
07-24-2005, 08:47 AM
I had that custom made for that boat. In the event it ever has to be outside I wanted to be prepared. The buyer gets that cover too and it would be 1500 to 2000 to replace it. It is all Sunbrella, waterproof, and fits the boat like a glove. Thanks for looking. Nick

There has got to be someone that does not want to buy a bigger boat like the rest of us?

SDLifesaver
09-08-2005, 05:52 PM
Here is the original thread from last year. The current price is 37,900.00. The boat is still located in Lake Havasu and can be seen anytime by appt. Current hours on the boat are 140 and has current registration until 9/06. Purchase in AZ avoids sales tax. We own the boat so we are in possesion of the pink slip on the trailer and the title in AZ is the registration because it is a non title state.

Have you decided what is next? I know you are interested in the Howard, and the Conquest, but I was wondering what else you are considering.

SDLifesaver
09-19-2005, 02:35 PM
Thanks Rick. We are only considering the Howard and the Conquest. We can only afford 110,000 at the most so the Howard is probably out but we want to look at it for sure. I just don't want to have any buyers remorse spending that much money. I really want to step up to the 525 for motor and not cut corners on accessories. As soon as our deal with the new buyers is finalized we are going to really start crunching the numbers and make our decision. Colors are done, trailer color is done, options are already thought out, just builder and price is still undecided.

SDLifesaver
09-19-2005, 06:03 PM
There will be no brass poles on the new boat. Haileigh is getting older now and I don't want to encourage any future employment possibilities. You better upgrade your passes because VIP will be where all the 4 and 6 cylinder Bayliners and sea doo's will be.

We're in the "same boat" Nick. I am sure the Howard is an outstanding deckboat. I was really excited in talking about it with Mike. He stated that he can keep it on plane without tabs using a five blade Maximus at wakeboard speeds! That's my biggest concern with tunnel hulls as a family boat. You'll be able to get close on the Howard for $110,000 but not with 525 in it. They currently have a blue Sport Deck for sale that's out of the mold and very beautiful. See pics below. I personally love this boat, it's absolutely gorgeous!!!!!

We can afford it with the HO and that is more than likely what we will do in the next few months. We still have to finish the sale of our boat with the new buyers and then get all our money to give back to Mike and Gene. I am shooting for a new boat delivery by April 1 just in time for summer.
