View Full Version : Sucks to lose a Truck

I was out at Park Moabi this last weekend and saw a guy lose his 3 day old Chevy HD at the launch ramp. The truck had about 800 miles on it. They guy went to drop his Sea Doo in the water and backed his tuck all the way down into the water and bounced the SeaDoo off the back end. The back end started to float up when the SeaDoo came off and the truck had no traction and started to float out. The truck got about 50 yards out into the middle of the channel then took on enough water to sink it all the way. They had to bring out a huge tow truck with the giant crane to pull it out of the water. I guess it would have paid to have 4 wheel drive in that case.

Or just don't back your truck so far into the water. What a moron.

That has to suck, sounds like he never launched the Sea-Do before from that truck. You would think somebody would have grabbed a rope or something. :o :yuk: he must have been all by him self?

that is crazy, I have launched my Sea-Doo hundreds and hundreds of times on steep ramps, mossy ramps you name it in my 36 year old El Camino and never had a problem. Sounds like this guy didn't know what F he was doing!

I seriously never saw a pick up backed in so deep it would float up, It was a bad mistake, but I'd have never guessed it would happen that way. To bad nobody was around to help the guy out!

He probably didn't know, his tuck has to sit higher than your El Camino, so he thought it would be better maybe even look cool with the back end of his truck under water. That is no excuse and he has to feel pretty dumb when he called for a tow tuck to fish his truck out

Where are your friends when you need them, just like when you get gas in the boat, they go running;)

I got to the ramp and it was Snowbird central. It looked like an early bird special in Vegas with all of the old people hanging out to see the boat get pull out.

One of the last times I had to actually unhook from the boat and go back down and pull somebody out on the dirt ramp at HorseTooth Reservoir was a bad ass 68 El Camino that was buried to the frame with a jet boat and trailer on back. Good thing those El Caminos don't get stuck much cause there's nothing to hook up to on the front.

Put one of those 4wd breather pipes on your truck so it will run
under water.

Look at the bright side - it kept the moronic truck driver from endangering everyone's lives on the river. You can only imagine what an a-hole he'd have been behind the wheel of a SeaDoo!
By the way, Kilrtoy, if that was a Ford pickup it woulda taken water in its tailpipe because everyone knows FORDS SUCK! :D

Most of you assholes that are calling this guy an idiot must be perfect! I'm sure YOU never made a mistake in your life, right! You are probably the same assholes that kick back on a lawn chairs next to the launch ramp with cooler and brew in tow, laughing at those that need help launching. or retriveing, witout getting off your fat, lazy ass to help! You know what jerk-off, we were all new at this once. How about being man enough to realize that this poor guy that lost his rig probably worked his ass off to get this truck, and the tow toys, and that he and his family are probably devistated by this unfortunate accident! I don't think that you would be so critical if this had happened to you or someone you know. Lighten-up for christs sake, this world has enough assholes.

Why so upset Laser,
Actually the wife practiced alot. No not at the launch ramp and at everyones expense, but in parking lots. The reason so when we got to the launch ramp, it wasnt at everyones else's expense. She could probably teach alot of people on here alot, I'd bet my ass on that one......(NO BOOZER THIS BET IS NOT OPEN TO YOU).
INSURANCE, I hope he had it......

It had to be a Chevy, it made it to the launch ramp. The Ford is either in Ludlow for repairs or is still trying to catch the Chevy:D

I'm guessin' that the Sea-Doo was in the bed of the truck, and not on a trailer. He should have splurged for the 300.00 trailer...
I've seen peeps pull it off using 2 peeps, but I'd never think of trying that maneuver alone....
