Wow your right it was really ugly:D . Does that cost a lot more than painting? Does it stand up better than paint?

I guess you'd say "I had a vision" (and no money for a new boat). Although, by the time I had the new rails, rubrail, windshield, cleats, and vents done...I probably could have afforded something newer.

I don't think it's much more than paint. The key is to find someone who knows gel...prep is the key. JBB (paint guy) and Barney (gel guy) could probably answer better.
Gel is usually more durable. Also, when you run your hand over the transitions on my boat...it's seamless. Pretty cool stuff.

Once you have the pic posted to the image gallery or another hosting site, click on it to bring up. Then right-mouse click on the photo and choose properties...Once you have the properties up it will show you the location...highlight the location and then right mouse click and select copy...now you have the location copied..
When you initiate your post on this thread, and get the window open, click on the IMG button; it will bring up a dialogue box...right mouse click in the box and paste your location and then click OK once the location is in the box...then preview your post and you should see your pic in the post...

Looking at all these nice rigs is gettin me fired up for summer.
MVG I may have to head out to Piru (its only about 30 min from our place) in the next week or so to charge up the batteries.
Also, I think my buddy has the same boat as yours. His is a 21' Ultra, big block, berkley jet. Same graphics too, except his main color is red. I was actually looking for the same boat when I bought mine except I found a 24/7 for about the same price (well a bit more) as the 21'. I was amazed at the price there getting for your boat.

OutColed: as a matter of fact, that photo was taken at the first
RRX Regatta by Dennis Kreuzenstein. They were sitting there
with their camera out and we were running about 4,000 (70 mph)
so when I got alongside, I stabbed it and it takes all of that 588
incher to lift that boat. You see, most don't know it but it weighs over 4000 lbs empty!
For me, boating is all about adrenalin! On the other side of the coin though, it sure is nice driving 28' tunnel bottom cats and deckboats all week at work!

Thanks Laser, I think that is the hardest part of having a custom boat is the gelcoat especially when it first comes out of the mold. You tend to question your choice until they buff it out.

I bought the bare hull and some of the parts from Hi - Tech.
I rigged it and built the motor / turbo setup myself.
Most acceleration I've ever felt.
