I wanted to post a few pictures of my new motor.
I'd really like to thank Barry of Obnoxious racing engines. He did a great job with it and built me a motor i am very happy with.
It is a 540, making 700hp and 680ft lbs of torque and runs on pump gas.
I hope to have a small video of the dyno run to post in the next day or so

One important footnote to this engine is that it is a mild combination, 10.25 to 1, flat tappet hydraulic camshaft, and a very safe, conservative tune up to make it live. We went to the dyno with a goal of 600 hp, and surprised everyone in the place when the "all show and no go" engine not only made a good horsepower number, but had over 600 ft lbs of torque from 3100-6100 rpm.
Special thanks to Steve for trusting his hard earned money to me and allowing me to build a really nice piece.

Thanks.. the motor builder is obnoxious racing engines (Barry). His email is agt001@aol.com.
Throughout the whole build Barry proved to be an honest and straight forward guy, everything was up front and there were no suprises (except the extra 100hp :D) and as you can tell by the motor and the numbers it put up (on a budget none the less) this guy knows his stuff, and stands behind his work. I would recomend anyone looking for a builder might want to contact him

So the Dyno run went well? Awesome. The carbs color match looks like it came out on the money.
Sorry I wasn't able to make the dyno run Steve. When you get a moment Fax me the dyno sheets. I've got a CDROM with all the pictures on it as well for your "build-up photo album"

Thank you as well for entrusting TPC on your fuel system.

tahitijet, yes Sir, that is one nice job Barry did for ya !Barry is a stand up guy and is very honest person I live on the East coast and Barry and I have corresponded back and forth since Feb of this year and he has always had time to answer my dumbass questions and has found stuff that I needed for my engine(carbs, intake ,dooley scoop)let me tell you a short story!Barry knew I was looking for a scoop for my carbs and told me there was one on ebay that was the one I needed,so I bidded on it and won it for I think it was 74.00 with the cover that goes on it .But it was dull and tarnished ,the person that I got it from was also from Cali.Get this Barry said hey ship it to me and I'll have it polished for ya at my polisher's and ship it to you and he did and it was awesome !!!I think I had a little over 100.00 for it shipped to my door!Barry could have bought this and sold it to me but this guy being who he is told me about it and even took the time to have it polished for me !! just one person that we all need to be more like!!thanks again Barry for all your help!!:) ;)

I myself have stood in the obnoxious racing engines facility in total aw at all the cool shit that goes on there.
Barry is a cool and helpful guy. He has not do any work for me yet but has given me many hard earned tips for my turbo engine. I.E., saved me from facking it all up. And I've seen many of his engines doing well on the race course.
He has a side kick named Bruce. Sometimes Bruce gets funny hair cuts and looks like Bullwinkle :D

Tahiti,
What heads are you running on the motor....details, details!

We used Pro Topline 320cc castings,, with severe duty Manley valves to try and avoid any valve failure. I did a bit of research into the flow numbers before we bought the heads just for the money savings. Valve springs were purchased to match the cam grinder's suggestion. They are pretty light, but the engine was designed to top out about 6000 rpm, so we hit that pretty close with peak power at 6100 rpm.
I can answer specific questions if you care to email me directly at: agt001@aol.com
Thanks,
Barry

The best of both worlds: Major BLING, BLING and it makes mucho H.P. and torque. :) You gonna have a happy summer.

That certainly is a work of art. I'm thinking about putting something like that in my yard like a statue...:D

I myself just purchaced those heads and have not installed them but my engine builder said those heads are the hot ticket for any engine.he has seen more increased hp and torque #'s than the darts or merlin and they are a little cheaper as well.

Are those heads ceramic coated?

The heads are polished. He did get the exhaust headers coated. Should be a nice deal when he gets it running, looking forward to getting a ride in it. I know he got his intake work for the pump done free on a bet that his engine actually made 700 hp. I would have liked to have seen the guy's face when he ran home and came back with the dyno sheet 20 minutes later,,,,,,, Priceless!

I have a "turbo" statue for your yard if you want.

Hey Barry,
I dropped the motor in today so i could install the rail kit and begin the upholstry. Looks better in the boat then it has sitting in my garage wouldn't you agree?
The best part about it was my wife saw it out front and came outside, it was the first time she'd seen the boat in over a year and the motor since the dyno.. her smile was bigger then mine.. Hope to have the top in paint in the next few weeks and on the water in early june.:)

Looking good Steve. Still waiting to hear how the engine runs in the boat. Might have to get together for a ride sometime. Once you get it tested some, would be fun to make a pass with a GPS.
