To sattelite.
Been spending a lot of time in my car lately and going to areas where the reception is not very good or in some cases non existant. Came across the Delphi roady while shopping at Best Buy and couldn't resist the impulse to buy it. It's been in the car for about 3 weeks now and I couldn't be happier with XM Radio. 100 stations of music and just about every genre you could possibly want to hear. The only hard part was going through all 100 of those stations and setting them to the preset list.
If you do decide to go XM I would recommend looking in to other recievers. The Roady is a good but VERY basic unit. It lacks some features I think would be very beneficial to have, like having a preset scan button, pushing each preset individually is a little tiring when you have 30 presets. The home kit has just gone into production and the only way to currently obtain it is to send in the rebate form and 8-10 weeks later you'll recieve the home kit in the mail which I think sucks. I'd rather pay the $40 MSRP then wait 8-10 weeks. A remote control would also be nice to have. However, for only costing $119.00 it's not a bad unit and can easily be switched from the car to the boat.
I also made the move to HDTV. Got a (what I think) smoking deal on a 65" RCA and couldn't say no to it.
My current cable tv provider blows to no end so I bought a DIRECTV set up yesterday. They have HDTV programming but it's only like 8 channels. Do any of you have the HDTV programming now? Is the HDTV programming worth having?
And the Golden question. Have you been happy with the service that DIRECTV has provided you? I have like 14 days that I can back out on the deal. If I don't cancel by then I am locked into a year contract with DIRECTV. I dont want a 1 year contract on something that wont live up to my expectations.

I have it, it's absolutely worth it. HDTV is like looking out a window.
Don't forget to get a decent decoder so you can watch HDTV programs right off your antenna. CSI, Las Vegas, for examples. Both look awesome right out of the air. I have a Hughes E-86 decoder, decodes Directv HDTV as well as out of the air broadcasts...

Can't get cable in my neighborhood, had Directv for 6 years or so. Totally happy, the one caveat is if you do call for service, immediately ask for a supervisor.
The folks that answer the phones are not very well trained. Seems as soon as they get a good customer sertvice rep. they make them a supervisor and take them out of the call center. Doh.
Good Luck

I'll keep that in mind. The cable here blows. Can't even get digital.

5.1 Dolby Digital. It sounds REAL. I hear 7.1 sounds even MORE real so I'm probably going to upgrade.
On that note.
Q. What do you call a gay guys balls?

Funny you mention that. I just got some barstools with stainless legs because stainless is an EZ Wipe surface. One quick swipe of a damp cloth and they're as good as new. :)
