Thats not to bad Greg. I suppose on the more open freeways you can just travel with the trucks. Most are doing that.

That's usually on the way to the river and this time of year it's a 90mph trip.
Emmm, ya gotta love the river and desert in the winter!!!:D

What I hate is the good sam club crew cruising at 58 mph or some clown running 60 with a fishing boat. They should run the frontage road.

I usually keep it around 70 for safety reasons. Don't need any tickets and don't need to kill anybody. The legal trailer limit is 55 not that anybody does it. If the fuzz is near 60 to 65 max is usually safe depending on what state you are in. But ive been known to hit 85. Sometimes you just can't wait to get to the river.

We usually do about 70-75 with the excursion v-10.......Pulls way better with the triple axle.

In the semi I generally stick to 5-7 mph above posted in CA and most other states. I've done as much as 140 in NV with live cattle, was a bad situation and I had to get then unloaded though.
One could probably get away with 7-10 mph over if you appear to know how to drive.

When my brother and I leave Idaho and head south to Parker it's hammer down time. Anyone ever drove that route??? I tell people there is only four turns between here and Parker and two are in Vegas.....
We both have deisel 3/4 and 1 ton trucks for pulling our stock car race trailer. Nothing less then 84 mph and 87 plus most of the time. I suppose if we were in an area with more traffic and turns we would not be able to travel that fast. The fun part is when one pulls over to pee and the other doesn't! Then you have to do about 95 plus to catch back up..... Nice to each other aren't we?

I usually pull the boats according to their size and max boat speed:
21' jet - 58 mph
19' jet - 64 mph
18' jet - won't know until the engine goes in
I don't want to boats to think they can go faster.....

Be careful. i went to an accident one time where the trailer began to sway and flipped the trailer and truck around on the freeway. I asked the driver what happened and he didnt know, just said it shook and spun him around. Said he wasnt doing anymore than 65 with a tandem and not much weight. The officer wrote him a ticket for 'unsafe speed causing trailer to sway' (as I remember it). He didnt go over the speed limit, but I guess the speed limit of the trailer was exceeded. Up to the driver to know whats a safe speed.

75 mph. That is as fast as I can go before the trailer starts to sway.

That must of been a shitty trailer. My comp trailer tows straight as an arrow even up at 90 mph. If the trailer is swaying at 65 then you got one of 3 things
1. shitty driver
2. Shitty trailer
3. improper weight distubition

I once got a ticket going across texas towing my 48 foot Chapperal race car trailer at 118 -- I hit 120 with my Lavey going across Wonder Valley then ran up on a CHP and she wasn't pleased when I offered her a couple of beers to forget the whole thing -- what can I say it was hot and she just might of been thirsty----

The trailer looked good even after the spin. The shackles didnt re-adjust. He was hauling about 10 chainlink gates. I think the road condition is a big factor too. Officer said it didnt matter what speed he would have been doing, he was going to get the ticket because it caused the wreck.

Last trip to Needles we set the cruise at 80 in the new diesel,it felt like 55. I bought a 5th wheel and will be pulling doubles next trip, I'm not going to screw around with that set up. I will probably not exceed 65.

I keep it @ 55-60 with my current Spectra 24.

In CA I set the cruise control @ 64 turn up the CD and no worries. In NV on the way to Powell trailer speed limit is 75 just like regular traffic I set it @ 78 to 79. I occasionally have not held to those rules. A few years ago I had an old houseboat at Cottonwood Cove on Lake Mohave. 297 miles from my driveway to the launch ramp. My best time was 4 hrs 22minutes.

This is usually caused by insufficient tongue weight. Common problem.

My heap runs fine 70-90mph. Single axle. I think it's the fender skirts.
