The annual Winterblast is held PresidentÂ’s Day weekend and features a fireworks display that lights up the sky like no other!
Winterblast is a fireworks convention held in Arizona every year by the Western Pyrotechnic Association. I hear it is awesome! There is an area set up where you can buy and set off fireworks, make your own, take classes, and watch other people do all of the above. On Saturday night, a professional display is done that is just incredible, and as a WPA member you get to sit as close as possible, so the fireworks are literally going off over your head.
Sounds pretty interesting to me. Think I might have to check it out.

We always load up two or three boats and our pontoon and tie them together in Thompson Bay. Our parties involve, hot DRINKS, and candles. Your only problem is with the "ramp rage" afterwards, so just stay a little later. It has ALWAYS been cold, and this year will probably be the same, so dress for it. See ya' there!

The display is my favorite evening of the year. We have everyone over (veranda ia 70' long) to lookout over at spectator point. I di miss the radio broadcast this year. Great score.
Will it be included this year?

This is one of the best displays in the west. It is not only a display for the residents to watch but it is a time for all the pyrotec guys to show off thier new shit. It is really a three day deal, most of it is held out a Shara park on the south side just outside of town. On friday night it starts, you can drive out there and park and watch them blow stuff up, you are NOT allowed to enter the area unless you are a member of the pyrotecnics asso.
on saturday night they do the display for the residents of Havasu as a thank you for letting them come here and make LOUD booms all weekend long and they get to show off to the others in the asso. they have been know to blow off some that are 10" shells, most of your 4th of july shows only do 6-8", and they also display their specialty stuff.
I have been out of town for the past 2 years, but not this one I'll be here!
Can't wait for it, it is GREAT!!:D

There will be lots of boats on the lake enjoying the show, or plenty of places around town to watch if ya don't feel like launching. Like the lighting of the millon lights over Thanksgiving, or the Parade of Lights, a must see weekend every year. Enjoy!

Well it all sounds like a wonderful time. I think I will really try and make it this year. Just have 2 get riverratmike 2 go. I think he would really like it. He LOVES fireworks. We always take the boat out on the 4th of July and watch them light them off at the Blue Water Casino. I didn't think last years fireworks were that great. I think the year before was a lot better. :p

We usually hang out at the golf course on the island, next to the Nautical. bring balnkets, warm drinks, etc. A really nice time. The after-show throng of cars is a little like going to a sporting event with everyone leaving at the same time, a little chaotic, but I don't have to deal with the boat, which is a good thing. We'll be there, as usual....

Hey,
Who's gonna be there for this? I wanna put the boat in the water, levels permitting. Actually I'm gonna go pick up the boat a dunk it for the first time this weekend. I've got such a HARD ON!!!!!! I gotta go to Phoenix and pick it up Saturday morning then drive to Havasu to drop it off at storage. The guys are gonna "road test" it with me out at Saguaro Lake . I think I might dunk it again in Parker before I put her away:)

RRX and JokersWild Promotions are doing a little "fun run" that weekend for anyone who wants to come. And it is FREE. We are just going to run the lake (in sweatshirts and beanies) and then hang on the water in the evening for the show.
Friday night we will be racing at havasu Hot Laps too.
So far we have about 20 boats who will all be there hanging out. It is a good excuse to get the boat on the water, even in the cold.
Let me know if you have any questions, or contact Todd at jokerswildpromotions.com

Dimarco Bros family and my family will be out there from Thursday night - Sunday. It should be a fun weekend. RRX, what time are you guys going to make a run down the lake? I may consider putting my boat on the water since others will be. We will be watching the fireworks from the boat so I hope to meet some of you guys.

www.riverracerx.com Website shows that event as canceled due to water levels and salavating prop shop owners:p I'm still hoping to put the boat on the water anyway, anyone else?

Water should be over 445 ft now and another foot higher by the weekend. We are planning to put the boat into the water for at least Saturday.
